  Best Zelda Game Ever?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released on Halloween Day 1998. It took the epic of the Legend of Zelda and made it so much better than it's ever been before. You play the role of Link, a young boy who discovers his destiny is to rescue Princess Zelda. On your adventure, you will interact with dozens of people, journey through many towns, and fight hundreds of different enemies. The game takes place over 7 years, and things change over those 7 years. For example, children grow up, towns develop new buildings, and quests differ depending on your age. The game is filled with a massive amount of seemingly endless secrets and side quests. I would say that this is by far the most atmospheric game on the N64, meaning that there are more places to visit in this game than in any other game. This is arguably the best Zelda game ever made, and there sure have been some gems in the Zelda franchise. Anybody who owns a Nintendo 64 should own a copy of this.

  LINK TO A GOOD GAME!
Review created: 09/02/06

Pretty good!
I'm not a crazed fan of Link/Zelda games.
But what the heck, this game is fun.

Lets start.

I'm sleeping, someone is calling me "Link, Link, wake up".
I open up my eyes and see Zelda.
Come with me, you must pick up something.
"Sigh, alright".
So, as I follow here, and get what I want, I wander around a bit, and then I must go to the king and then sh*t hits the fan, an evil sword changes the whole world and turning Zelda in to stone (if I am wrong, haven't played this game for awhile haha).
So, my story starts, to save the world, once again from evil...

The story has been done many, many times before, evil is here, you must save the world. So yeah, lets continue :P.
The controls are pretty good, you have the four point thingy and your l and r button and a,b buttons.
The graphichs look bright and happy, I rarely had a moment where I thought, this game looks poo. As about the difficulity:
"this game is easy to play hard to master".

The sound is good also, the usual Zelda music sounds and things like that, dunguons have eary music while outdoors sounds nice.

Speaking of dungeons, that's where you are the most of the time, which is not bad, but can be annoying.
The puzzels are pretty good, and mind boggling, at times.

My overall is: Great gameplay, good sound, good controls, just plain fun to play.

This game took LINK to a whole new level as far as storyline, graphics, gameplay and depth of play. It carried on what the original Zelda's started and passed along it's gameplay to the future Zelda's of today and still to come. This game will leave you glued to the TV for days, week, maybe even months!!
PICK IT UP!!

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the greatest game ever. The sheer amount of detail to all aspects of the game, including gameplay, graphics, and sound is astonishing for its time. The game is incredibly rewarding, giving you new items and abilities as the game progresses. Ocarina's story is one of the best, it immerses you and is truly epic. Bottom line is, you must play this game.

BRILLIANT! With an incredible amount of good gaming hours, great storyline, insanely good variation in puzzles to solve, THIS is a REALLY good RPG game!
It doesnt provide as great human graphics as some games, but the overall graphics of nature etc is still really great!
This is a game fit for young & old & I played it on a neighbourhood competition where the youngest was 20 & the oldest was 57, AND the winner was mid 40's.
So this is an absolute all-around-great-for-all kind of game.
HIGHLY reccommended!

  Amazing N64 Game
Review created: 01/04/09

Very very good game. A must have. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time may be the greatest single-player video game ever created in any genre. It's that good. Those new to Nintendo's enormously popular Zelda series will be glad to know this game stands completely on its own. Our hero, Link, starts the game as a young boy living in a magical forest village populated by elf-like children. But there is evil lurking in the world. Strange monsters are appearing, and the land is changing. It's up to Link to discover why, defeat the monsters, and stop the evil at its source.
The game world's ever-changing environment looks like a fairy tale come to life. Majestic waterfalls, towering castles, and magical forests are a feast for the eyes and ears. Rivers flow, rain falls, the sun and moon rise and set. There's even an erupting volcano! Exploring this world is half the fun of the game. Along the way, you learn musical tunes that you can play on the flute-like Ocarina, a magical device that helps you teleport, alter the weather, even control time itself.

  Zelda moves to 3D

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time brings the Zelda titles to the Nintendo 64 and into 3D. You play as link and have to discover your true heritage as you help Princess Zelda and battle your way through many 3D worlds. The bridge from a top down game to the newer 3D environment is great. The puzzles are new and innovative and it is fun to play.
Overall great gameplay that will keep you entertained for hours.

5/5

Link's adventures never cease to get old. They never seem to be for any certain age. There is just something about saving the land, having to rescue the princess, and fighting evil to the very end that just inspires the soul. Ocarina is one of those inspirations. In this 50+ hour epic you must time travel to reveal secrets hidden and solve puzzles. The game can feel long at times but when you get to riding a horse instead of walking things get a bit more fun. The target system is pretty solid and controls steady. Boss battles are huge. No dialogue but that's part of the charm (like Lego Star Wars). This is a must own. One of the Top 25 games of all times, more likely in the top 10. 5/5

This is one of the best Zelda games out there...and I have tried almost all of them. I found myself wanting to win this game several times over where some other Zelda games I gave up on (like Majora's Mask). There's even games within this game, like fishing...which was fun. This Zelda is just another really good family game. Nintendo you did it again! :o)

Not being a huge fan of the Nintendo 64, I found that this game itself was an amazing breath of fresh air.

I actually bought it by mistake, thinking it was Majora's Mask. After playing it for two hours, I found that this was the game for me. It was the original game that I purchased that got me hooked to the Zelda Gaming Series. Thanks to Ocarina of time, I have hunted down any and every game ever made.

I love this game, it might be a bit tricky (STUPID WATER TEMPLE EVIL!!!!), and it might be a bit long (Stil trying to get a sleeping schedule back XD), but it is worth every minute and every cent you spend on it.

The Pro's:
1) Strategy = Best for Hand Eye Coordination
2) Plot = Fun. Plot is good. Plot is my friend.
3) Sidequests Galore = Even Better for the Gamer
4) Interesting Graphics = Sure, they're not the best, but it beats stick figures
5) Tons of Weapons = <3 More ways to kill! Yay!

The Con's:
1) Very very time consuming
2) MUST have some kind of hand eye coordination.
3) Very tricky to get through a lot of the temples
4) Not the best graphics, but, for the N64, they rule
5) Not much for all character development.

  A Perfect Game

A fantastic game. Besides the Final Fantasy series, there was no RPG like this one. Not to complicated, but extremely fun and difficult. The story line was outstanding, the music was outstanding, the game play was outstanding. The only bad part of the game was when it ended. A perfect game. A+

They could have cleaned the game up at least a little bit... I understand you sell things as is but it would have been nice to at least wipe away some of the age. It looked like it used to have stickers on it that were removed except for the sticky part which accumulated a lot of dirt.. Next time show a lil care for your merchandise.

When you hear "Ocarina of Time", you hear the name of a masterpiece. This game was originally launched for the Nintendo 64 in 1998; first in Japan, then in North America, and finally in Europe. It has been acclaimed by every true gamer, by every true critic, and by every true collector to be one of the best or the best game ever made.
Directed by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" takes place in the fictional kingdom of Hyrule in a time well before of the first four games of Zelda. Since the opening of the game, the main characters are introduced; Link, our hero, the one who fights for justice, the prince who will save the princess; Zelda, the princess who must be rescued from the hands of the evil; and Ganondorf, the kidnapper of the princess and antagonist of the story. The story takes place in 7 seven years; seven years that you will be traveling through time to complete quests and advance in the storyline. Through the game, you'll find a huge amount of quest, landscapes, enemies, people, towns, minigames and endless adventures.
This game was re-released for the Nintendo Gamecube in 2003. This game is a must have for any collector, for any gamer, for anyone who has a Nintendo 64 or Gamcube; in short, this is a must for everyone.

One of Zelda's best, Ocarina of Time
Review created: 09/01/08

Ocarina of Time is one of the best Zelda or any other game made so far. It is a great way to get into the Zelda franchise, or is a great continuation for those who have played other Zelda titles. Link goes on a quest that takes him through the sands of time and allow him to have powers never before seen in a game of this kind. Voted the best game of all time by Edge magazine, Ocarina of time is worth the time to investigate. I highly recommend it and urge you to invest some interest in this action adventure title.

The best video game ever made.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, is a masterpiece in any way possible. It was one of the first true 3D games like Super Mario 64, and had an amazing storyline, possibly the best storyline of all the Zelda games. It introduced automatic jumps, the use of music as a key instrument in the game, many weapons like swords, deku nuts, bombs, etc, and even the ability to travel through time. Along the main story, Ocarina of Time includes a wide variety of side quests, like collecting gold skultulla tokens, trading items to obtain the strongest sword in the game, horseback archery and racing, many pieces of heart, and even a fishing pond! There are 3 save files available, so you can replay this game as much as you like.

I am sure millions of people have played and enjoyed this game already, but if you are yet to play this amazing masterpiece, what are you waiting for? I tell you, after one hour of gameplay, you will feel as if this is the most amazing game ever made.

I remember playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a kid and being absolutely amazed at how unbelievably awesome it was. Now that I'm much older, and although I'm completely aware of how video games have evolved over the years and become so much more visually aesthetic and super interactive, I can still say, that after re-buying the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time off of eBay, it is still, hands down, without a doubt, the best video game of all time -- period!

I had this game when it first came out. I loved to play it and played it all the way through a couple of times. I gave away my N64 as a gift to my god son. Now it is back at my house for my son but minus some games that I gave him. This game is as good as it was back then. Look forward to many more entertaining hours of game play.
