This short story was initially told in 'All The Rage' and has only minor changes. If you have already read 'All The Rage' you will be disappointed with this 94 page book. The font is large and each page has decorative borders. Even the rakosh on the cover is the wrong color.
If you collect F. Paul Wilson first editions, you may want this book. If you want a new Repairman Jack story, wait for the coming book, hopefully it will be all new material. If you haven't read 'All The Rage' then buy that instead. This book appears to be a ploy to bring in more money for the publishers and the author. I was so disappointed I didn't even have a new story in this expensive hardcover priced like a novel.

After finishing Wilson's third book in the in the Repairman Jack series, "Conspiracies", I came across The Last Rakosh. It fit perfectly. I was very happy to have found the book and it complimented it well.
It wasn't until I just read the previous review that it is also a part of Wilson's next book "All The Rage" which I have not read yet. Although I would agree with the review if had already reading Rage, I hadn't and therefore gave Rakosh a good review because I was so very excited to have found it just after finishing Conspiracies. I am just a little behind in the series. Anyway, I thought it was good and if you're where I am at in the series, then pick up The Last Rakosh after reading Conspiracies. Enjoy!
Adendum 7/4/07: Just finished "All The Rage" and it is true, The Last Rakosh was edited from parts of the book - weird.
