The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch (2008, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

This was a very well thought out book / audio. Without being the least bit "preachy" Randy Pausch helps to put life in perspective. He shares very genuine feelings and experiences as he looks over his life. He makes a very conscious decision to live his life with a positive attitude and very effectively creates (for his family and friends)a living legacy through his book. The title, "The Last Lecture", was not meant to conjure of a depressing image of a dying man. Instead he reminds people of how precious life truly is and gently reminds his readers to embrace life and not live it just for yourself. What you give to other's is very important, even if it is only in the shape of a memory. Mr. Pausch did a remarkable job with his book and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a sincere introspective experience that will keep you smiling and perhaps provoke a few cathartic tears.

i liked evrything about, it.. the guy... told us.. those of us.. who are in good health.. take life for granted.. is true.. we dont take care of our bodies, or anything.. like we are gonna be down here forever.. when in reality... ''life is short'' and we need to value evrything we have, right now.. not tomorrow or next week now..today.. this guy... was diagnosed with a deadly illness.. and it really breakes ur heart.. and brings u to tears.. how someone.. has so little time to live.. and they really appreciate life more than those of us who have good health... just been born in good health is a blessing..alone.. this is truely.. life changing.. we must take it to heart... and start a new life today.. embrace evrything.. cause the truth is.. life is short... some people.. lifes are shorter...we need to wake up and smell the fresh air..


BOTTOM LINE= MUST OWN.. MUST READ.. PASS ON TO ALL UR FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS,ETC.. SO THEY GET THE ''BIG PICTURE''

I watched the last half of the show about him a couple of weeks ago.And received my audio book. I am listening to the first part in the car and already in just the first 60min of this cd I am overwhelmed by his thoughtfulness of everyone and his story and advice he wants his children to hear when the time is right. It already is making me want to be a better mother to my three young sons 2,4,and 6 years. I highly recommend this even though I am only into 60minutes of 4 hrs of these cds. I can only listen when I am in the van without everyone.It will probably take me 6months to listen, but I have a feeling I will be listening to this one my whole life.

This audiobook CD is a fantastic listen. Randy Pausch is so upbeat and positive, even though he has terminal cancer. He gives advice and tongue-in-cheek tips on how to live your life and treat others.

I am from Pittsburgh and heard about Prof Pausch daily during his struggle. I drive quite a bit and thought I'd like to hear about it all in his words as I travel. It was pretty good. Thought provoking. What would you want to leave as a message for your children- given the chance?

Incredible Man. I first saw him on GMA. Full of Spirit and Strength. His Legacy has and is setting a great example for many. He lived his life to the fullest and truly enjoyed every minute of his life. The strength of his Wife was also inspiring. When he was a child his parents allowed him to paint his dreams on his bedroom wall. With this known to others, many parents also allowed their children to do the same. What a positive impact he has had on many and the lives he has emotionally touched has left a powerful imprint that will last a lifetime. His Commencement speech at Carnegie University and the love and devotion her shared about wife, they kissed and embraced as he swooped her off her feet and left the stage to a standing ovation.

This book is wonderful. It held my attention, didn't want to stop when I needed to. Randy Pausch tells it like it is, very honest and open about his life and view on life. I would recommend this to anyone. Loved it.

This was really good. I saw this story on 20/20 and had to find out more about it so I bought this. Was very interesting and heartbreaking knowing his condition but inspiring as well.

Awesome book - A great reference to life in general. Very easy to follow and a book that you would reference time and time again.

Excellent book! Bought the audio version so I could listen while driving in my car. Actually listened to certain parts over and over again!!!

This book really hit home for me as I just lost my best friend of 41 years. She never had the chance to get to know herself and at the end we spent hours and hours going over and reviewing our lives. This book has changed mine forever. I hope Randy Paush lives for many more years, I don't even want to think about losing a man like him.

I haven't finished the audio book yet, but so far I love this story!!! Saw Randy Pausch's story on GMA and loved "The Last Lecture" excerpts that they played. So naturally, I wanted more! I hope that the audio book includes the actual "last lecture" that is in his own words. I guess I'll find out when I get to finish listening.

This was well worth the cost. I am glad I got the cd version. It was a lot easier than for me to read the book. Mr Pausch has many great last thoughts and some areas were real tear jerkers. He gives great insight into how to handle a terminal illness and life itself. Highly recommended!
