"Joshua Tree" -- The best ever

1987 (not '96 as stated above) -- "Joshua Tree" was the best to date, and in the opinion of many, the best U2 album ever. Political awareness is brought through incredible music. This album has very high emotion and heart-pounding rock and roll from the very first note. "Where the Streets Have No Name" demands that you listen intently with great anticipation. Before this album, U2 was a well-kept secret. However, this not-so-well-known band seemed to get the attention of everyone once "Joshua Tree" hit the stores and airwaves. Suddenly, they were on the covers of "Time", "Rolling Stone", etc., then an awesome tour that spread the nation (and the world). The terrific masterpiece deserved the attention -- a CD that must be cherished.
