Another fine deviation from Alex Cross novels, THE JESTER presents a medieval era in which the public revolt against the reigning corrupt government which levy unreasonably high taxes on its residents. Patterson’s imagination in this fictional story carries the reader to its bittersweet end —-with a golden lance.
