The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne (2006)

This book is a heart-tugging masterpiece. There is no way you can read it and not be changed!!! It's written by a man who has such a heart for Jesus and passion to correct this world through love that he has had many adventures and experiences that most of us just dream or read about. It shows how all Christians have different views and priorities, but the one thing that makes us unified is the fact that love is what should be at our core in everything we do. This book is a must read for everyone, a great book study.

Overall very good book, very insightful & a definate eye opener. Don't agree with everything persay but very well written and gives me a whole new perspective on things- LOVE IT. Bought it because I heard it was good and I totally agree.

When so many church leaders worry about how to do church, this is a fresh reminder of how we are to be The Body. Irresistible Revolution is a beacon of hope that a radical life in Jesus is possible in America. He shows a life on the fringes of religion and immersed in the Jesus and the world.

This book changed my life. It is incredibly well written--humorous and personal, and filled with poignant truth. It questions and challenges our current political system, inspiring readers to abandon wasteful habits and step outside of their comfort zones to make a difference in the world.

This is a great book with loads of wisdom about what it means to be a follower of Jesus and committed to social justice. Great!

I needed this bookfor an english class assignment and found it to be a very interesting read.Kept me on my feet and was full of non stop action and drama.i recomend this book to anyone.

I never received this item. I ordered it well over a month ago and still have yet to receive it. To my knowledge my money has yet to be refunded. At this time my hope is simply to have my money refunded since I ended up purchasing the book elsewhere due to the extremely poor service.

I am looking for something to get my faith roaring...no more just sitting around for me! I have heard that it is an exceptional read :)

This book is life changing about a man who has given his life up to follow the life of Jesus Christ....The life he represents is a life that the world looks to as totally not normal....Step into this book and it will change your life, only if you are ready to step out and be a radical as Jesus was.

If you seriously follow Jesus Christ, this book deserves your attention. I don't agree with everything the author says, but I will be thinking about the book for a very long time to come. If we as believers lived this book out, the world would be turned upside down (once again). Not for those who merely wish to appear religious, or those who think the church should go on as it has for decades, but for those who hunger to see the Holy Spirit breathe life into what often seems more dead than alive.

This is a great book. It talks about what loving your neighbor is all about and provides a glimpse, perhaps, of what Christianity was meant to be.
Being so conditioned with the American culture, it is sometimes a hard book to read, but it is full of truth. It continues to question the way I look at things and to transform my conception of community and love.
I am definitely going to be passing this one on.

It is not a blue print for what you or I should do in a country of abundance. It is to give us ideas about how we can be like Jesus with skin. We are his hands and feet and if not you, or I, who? God provided us with abundance to be able to give back. So if we aren't then we can't blame God for not providing. Sincerely Judy <+><<

Reading this book was like talking to him in first person. I learned so much about myself an bias in a lot of areas. What a great read.

This book was wonderful! The Irresistible Revolution is the best book I've read in years. It really made me want to change the way I do things and I feel that everyone could gain some insight from this book. Peace, love and Jesus. Life doesn't get any better than that.

Shane is a great story teller. I bought this book because I read an excerpt on his website and had to read more. I LOVED reading about his time spent with Mother Theresa...amazing!

Though I didn't agree with all of Shane's views and opinions, this book was good at helping me think outside my comfortable box.

I was originally sent this book by a friend who had read it while travelling across China discovering the continent and seeing what God is doing for those people. I purchased it in a 'pay it forward' type move, wanting to pass on this wonderful book. Shane Claiborne has an incredible story to tell from working with Mother Teresa to being in Iraq during the beginnings of the war and let me tell you, he has faith. It is inspiring to read and it might help your faith get a whole lot deeper. He writes about what he really thinks Jesus would do in this day and age. It is well written and worth far more than the 12 dollars you might pay for it.

I had first borrowed this book from my local library. Fantastic! I, then, purchased it to finish it at my own leisure. It's going to be a nice present for a minister at church!
