This is an excellent addition to your animated Family Film Library DVD collection!

Is suitable for all ages, and contains a moral besides!
The animation is good, there is a plot line, and the voices are well cast.

Now that is is on DVD we can watch it over and over!

I bought this for a child's present but I decided to watch it myself first. In the next 2 days, I watched it 5 times. The plot is nearly impossible to describe. Boy finds robot in the woods, boy loses robot and then robot becomes hero doesn't really do it justice. This anti-war story set in 1957 America and with subplots concerning the communist menace and Russian space satellite superiority is about innocence and paranoia and being true to your own self. The animation is first rate, the music memorable, the all star cast provides superb voice acting. It is humorous and thought provoking at the same time. Kids will enjoy the story but adults will understand it. The only negative is the ending has some rather violent scenes with a military attack on a small town in Maine and the resulting launch of a nuclear weapon. Don't worry, it does have a happy ending.

This movie is awesome. I am a parent of 4 children and I have watched this movie as many time as they have. I don't like them watching thinkgs that are violent or just not good TV. This movie is one of our favorites. You will love this movie!

Brad Bird is a true visionary. This film is a classic that will stand the test of time. If you haven't seen it I recommend you buy it not rent it. This is one film you will want to see again and again.
There are humorous glances back in time to the cold war where children viewed duck and cover films in school and the film shows the general fear and judgments placed on anyone bucking the status quo. It also shows that it doesn't matter where you come from, or what is expected of you, that you choose who you want to be. This film has such heart! The idea of the Giant being a gun with a soul is so powerful. There are couple scenes which may be too scary for children under 3 or 4 to watch. The retro style of the animation is a pure joy to behold. This is one of the finest examples of animation you will ever get to see. Children and adults will want to see this again and again!
Buy it. You won't be disappointed!

It is a great cartoon because it teaches kids lessons on compassion for someone else in need. It teaches how to protect someone from danger. I
just thought that overall it was a very good cartoon with moral fiber.

I have been looking around all stores to find this item, and im glad to have foiund it in good condition. This movie is a great movie to watch with kids especial during sleep overs.

This is a GREAT movie by Brad Bird (Pixar) for Warner a few years back.
Beautifully animated, with an exciting plot reminiscent of classic 50's sci-fi movies. It is an update of the Ted Hughes novel by the same name, and Pete Townsend of "The WHO" is listed as a producer. Townsend penned a musical years ago based on the story.
The 'look' is colorfully 'retro', and the pace of the plot works perfectly.
HIGHLY recommended.

I have been a Warner Bros. fan before I even had my very first memory! Even as a kid, I preferred Warner Bros. over Disney!

Anyways back on topic, I remembered watching this movie in the movie theaters on it's release (August 5, 1999) back when I was 8 years old. My father took me and my brother to see it and I remembered thinking, "This is such a beautiful movie!" I found myself getting emotional and wanting to cry near the end (and in the end) of the movie [You're going to have to watch the movie to find out why!]

Now, 10 years later and lots of muscle build, I re-discovered the movie and wanted to watch it. This time, I had waterworks in the end!

Bottom Line: This movie is worth your two hours! I suggest you should get it! Especially on eBay since they are more cheaper than the video stores!

Little boys love it! An adventure of a little boy with a BB gun and a lovable giant robot. I don't like that the responsible adult (beatnick character) uses words like hell and damn. It also reflects the attitude that the government (ie. armed forces) are stupid and shoot, first ask questions later. With some military fire. Both my grandsons have loved it!

I bought it so I can watch it again when ever I want or share it with my friends who love brilliant animated films but who have not seen this more-then-excellent film.

The Iron Giant movie is a one of a kind movie... Great for the whole family. My 4 year old son absolutely loves it...watches is almost every day! There are a lot of good lessons throughout. I give it 5 stars. It seems many people may look over this movie...You've got to see it if not own it!

Modern animation that is set in the 50's with period correct backgrounds, home items, clothing, etc. The feeling of the film is very 50's, too, with a slightly slower pace. I loved it.

This is a sweet story of a robot that fell to earth and the boy who found him. Delightful film, much better than the original book. I recommend it highly for kids and adults. Have fun!

This is in my opinion a truly wonderful movie. A true gem for the entire family. I decided to purchase it because it is not easy to find in the average video store.
Now I can enjoy it ast my leisure as well as lend it to friends and family!!!

An older Disney film that has become a classic in our home. My boys love this movie and it has plenty of subtle adult humor to keep me and my wife entertained.

We had been looking every where for these movie for our children. nobody local had it, so we ordered off ebay. every one in our family loves to watch it. every family should own these mpovie.
