I absolutely loved this mini-series. I bought it after I saw "North and South," also with Richard Armitage, because I am very interested in art and thought it could be interesting. I love the Impressionist artists and figured that a BBC production about them couldn't be bad. It was hard to actually go to bed without finishing the series in one night because it was so well done! During the final episode, I couldn't believe it was ending so quickly! Fantastic!

This is an excellent DVD about the beginning of the Impressionist painting movement. Even a non student can appreciate the fine acting, interesting storyline and absolutely gorgeous cinamatography. Produced by A&E, it is high quality. Anyone who loves Monet, Renior, Dega, Manet, Cezanne and the rest will have a great time. The only flaw was that it did not cover all 8 of the of the original painters. It included Bazille, but ignored Sisley and Moriset. And even though not originally in the group, I would have liked some on Van Gogh. Overal A+++.
