a more contemporary approach but thoroughly rockin'

This cd is not as thrashy as Machine Fish before it and is somewhat more predictable tempo-wise. This cd is more predictable and the songs more mid-tempo than others before this cd. It also has more strange artwork done by members than other inserts do.
The band continues to attack 'The Man', the system that seems to rule attitude in the West. This spiritual theme is prominent and gets much exposure here. The warnings here are certainly warranted, and without the paranoia of some other Christian bands. While there is some discussion of spiritual warfare, it is particular to human activity rather than abstract aesthetics. They often emphasize social responsibility, unlike much of modern rock.
Tilt-A-Whirl mocks the predictability of the world's social structure and points to its inept future. Evil Twin is beautifully Beatlesque in its harmonization and delves into human nature. Buzz is a spoken rant that rails against materialism. Ribbon explores action vs. noteriety in humanitarian terms. Bound continues the theme of life as a journey that we are all on, journies that bisect and affect each other. Mona Lisa is a ballad. I Can't Wait rails against the abuse of tele-evangelists, a calling to account and their impending judgement.
