the very best of Prince, originally 3 CDs box set. too bad there's no "The Most Beutiful Girl in The World"

The CD was originally released in 1993 as part of a box set. The Hits 1 featured more of his hit singles and radio friendly songs. The highlights of the CD are his well known songs such as: When Doves Cry, 1999, Let's Go Crazy and 7. The rest of the CD features much of his obscure songs but reconizable ones such as I Feel For You and the original Nothing Compares 2 U. However, some songs on here are quite stale and dry. If you're a Prince fan and really want the Prince songs you know and love like Little Red Corvette, Kiss, etc.., you'll find that on the Hits 2. The CD lacks the comprehensive songs that you want to hear. It's worth it though, if you are a die hard Prince fan.

This wasnt one of my favorites--seems to me they put a lot of songs on the cd that I dont remember ever being hits. I would have passed on this one.

I love him. He writes beautiful songs and for once, we have one of the celebrities that keeps a low profile and should be a role model for other entertainers on how to be a mega star without scandal.

This is an excellent greatest hits cd by Prince,18,tracks such as:WHEN DOVES CRY;POP LIFE;LETS GO CRAZY;1999;ALPHEBET STREET;SIGH O THE TIMES;DIAMONDS AND PEARLS;AND 7 as well as a few others. A great addition to any collection or start one with this one dont forget to add PRINCE THE HITS 2 also

The 'clean' series of Prince's 80s hits can only be describe by the word 'Perfect'.

The 2 bonus tracks are a nice addition to the collection.

"Prince - The Hits 1" is a single disc release of what was a 3-disc set called "The Hits, The B-Sides." This 18 track collection contains a modest sample of Princes popular hits during the 1980's. The biggest hits on this disc include "When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, 1999, and Diamonds and Pearls." This disc also includes a live recording of his cover of Sinead O'Conners "Nothing Compares 2 U" which he wrote.

Overall the layout of the disc is clean but doesn't go in cronological order of release. When a artist puts live recordings on a greatest hits collections, it has to be worth remebering (i.e. Bob Seger's "Turn The Page" as example.) Princes recording of "Nothing Compares 2 U" is OK but is not a track I would play over and over.

The rest of the layout is average and is a good buy for the casual Prince fan.

If you like Prince, you will like this CD. I bought it because of the tracks Pop Life, 1999, and Let's Go Crazy, but there are a few other tracks that I listen to as well, including "When Your Were Mine," a song that I first heard in the ski film "Hot Dog, the movie."

Again, if you like Prince, you will like this CD.

I love it. A must if you are a true Prince fan. I bought it because I am a Huge Prince fan and I collect whatever I can of his whether it's music or memorabilia.

I was totally satisfied with the condition of the CD. Not any complaints with the said item. Item came in as stated. I am enjoying my purchase.
