For crying out loud - not another genre remake presented in "Stinkerama"! How many times do Hollywood studio hacks need to remake a successful original into a hack imitation to get the message that it's not profitable? The homoerotic tension that lifted the first film above it's genre formula are completely missing here. It isn't even fun rooting for the hitcher on this dopey road trip, and they couldn't do enough bad things to the young leads to satisfy me. It's dumb.
Awsome movie- Really opens your eyes to the fact that it could happen to you. Great story and amazing acting not to mention how it keeps you guessing as to what's going to happen next. I recommend this movie for sure.
I really liked this movie. It was not really that scary, but it was suspenseful and kept your attention the entire time. Two thumbs up for Sophia Bush, I did not think that she would be able to act in a horror film but she was GREAT. I love Sophia Bush in the One Tree Hill Seasons but I would recommend the Hitcher to all Sophia Bush fans and for anyone who likes horror movies. I like the ending a lot, but I am not going to tell you because that would ruin the whole movie for you. I REALLY liked this movie because this is actually something that can happen to anyone who picks up a total stranger (compared to other movies)!!!
Overview of the movie: While driving across the desert, Jim (Zachary Knighton) and Grace (Sophia Bush) stop by the side of the road to pick up a hitchhiker — who turns out to be a murderous psychopath (Sean Bean). While the couple quickly ditches their would-be assassin, the maniacal killer follows them along the dusty back roads and they engage in a nasty game of cat-and-mouse.
Why we bought this movie and what we liked about it? We bought it simply because it's the remake of the CLASSIC HBO 80's original, The Hitcher. Though the storyline was somewhat different than the HBO original, it was very interesting and definitely held our attention from beginning to end. The 1986 HBO Classic "The Hitcher" starred Rudger Hauer, C. Thomas Howell, and Jennifer Leigh, and was released on video in 1990. Again comparing the two, there is a slight twist at the end compared to the first one, and its a little more graphic(not for the faint hearted).
Overall, it was a GREAT FILM, and VERY ENJOYABLE!! A LOT OF GREAT ACTION and BLOOD SCENES as well!! One you'll watch several times over!!
With the DVD, you're able to view the Bonus Features which are great and feature the behind-the-scenes look at the awesome car crash scenes!
We dont think you'll be disappointed!
Our Rating: 8.5/10
Rent It or ... Buy It? BUY IT!!!
If you havent yet seen the HBO Original, we strongly recommend purchasing that one as well.

i really diden care for this movie it was nothing like the peviwes not really a great movie some people might like but over all i waisted my money on this one
There are some nice surprises in this movie that made me jump. I was really diggin' it until the song Closer by Nine Inch Nails starts. Then all of a sudden the movie seemed to shift gears to stupid. Towards the end it gets back on track. Overall I enjoyed watching this movie, it was full of suspense and had a creepy vibe to it.
