I have been using The Firm workout tapes/DVDs since 1992 and this is by far the best and most strenuous workout I've used to date. I've done this workout twice already and was surprised how quickly I caught on until I realized it wasn't me, it was the excellent cuing that the instructor gave. Of my vast exercise tape/DVD collection, my favorites are always The Firm workouts (own 23 Firm workouts) as they are well rounded. I look forward to purchasing another DVD with this instructor.

Alternates between cardio/sculpting. Great Instructor. Challenging and not boring.
Holds your interest and is a great overall workout.

I love this DVD, it's heart pumping and calorie killing -- I would not recomment this DVD to anyone starting out, but if you need a change in home workout this very high on my lists.

WOWWWW!! finally a REAL!!! workout if you don't BLAST FAT with this one!!! & i'm sure the results will be veryfast too!! i will recommend for people that's working out often not for beginer but would be a very good addition after a couple of weeks of training or getting plateau's to get ripped off the FAT! =) HAVE A BLAST WORKOUT

  Great Workout But Expect Challenges The First Few Times

Great workout but extremely intense for those who aren't used to exercising. The calls are also really fast and do not give much warning and expects you to know all exercise moves already. It is hard to keep up the first time and you WILL feel confused. The workout is great however and I felt like I did a good job after it was all over. I also think my fanny "lifted" (quoting from the FIRM's Fanny Lifter) a bit and was more toned after just the first workout. Expect troubles the first time. You have to get used to it.

Pros:Intense workout that makes you feel great afterwards!!
Cons:Fast moving, not enough warning into transitions, pretty intense and wouldn't recommend for beginners like the box says so, beginner "variations" are not that much easier than the regular workout.

Long, fast moving workout. Not my favorite because of rapid switching of exercises. Not enough time spent repeating vs. the learning effort. I find the instructor and background girls unmotivating.

This is a very good tape and you just know while you're doing it that you're burning at least 500 calories. My calorie tracker had me burning almost 600. The only that is keeping it from being excellent is that some of the moves are very difficult. With time, you'll pick them up and it will be just fine, but for the first several times, it will be frustrating. Great workout!

I have done this work out 2x now and it's a great workout! Very fast paced! I have a little bit of a hard time understanding her but as I do it a few more times, shouldn't have a problem keeping up and the steps will be more familiar. I love The Firm!!!

I got this DVD because I work out every day and I tend to get bored. Well, this one is anything but boring. It is so fast and complicated that it takes more than once to get it down, at least for me. I gave up halfway through the first day, but I got back into it the next. Now I love it. I rotate out my DVD's depending on my mood and how tired I am. This one really revs you up and you feel like you got something accomplished when you are done. I am losing weight (watching what I eat, too) and because I change my DVD's around, I cannot credit just this one for the lbs. lost. But I am thinking it has done a LOT towards getting rid of the last few lbs. I recommend this one if you are willing to stick it out. And be prepared. You will work hard. Don't give up because you feel klutzy at first. As with anything, the more you do it, the more you master the steps.

If getting to the gym is a problem for you, no need to fear with this workout DVD. Great for all fitness levels from couch potato to triatholon athlete: You will find yourself either crying or cursing or both! It can be modified to increase the amount of challenge by the amount of weights used. If you are just getting started on a fitness regimen, or trying to get back into one like me, this provides an excellent opportunity to measure your progress. If you are already in shape and looking for a way to introduce something new to your program, this will do the trick nicely. I have been a long time user of The FIRM products and am very satisfied with the way they have managed to stay in touch with current trends. In addition, their use of women who are not stick figure thin and women of color is also refreshing.

I question that a person would burn 500 calories during this workout. It is a good workout, gets the heart rate up and keeps you sweating. However, some of the cardio moves are complicated and too fast paced. I felt I was almost done with the cardio segment before I got the moves down. The strength intervals were good, but some would be difficult for those with bad knees as there were a lot of lunges.

This workout is somewhat well cued, very energetic if done with proper form and definitively an intermediate level. It's not dancy, it's more athletic and has some killer plyos. The tonning sections are very good too. You'll get a very good sweat with this workout. The only complain I have is that sometimes the cue is not spot on, there are times when you think "Ok, have to alternate legs/arms" because that's how you've been doing it and NO. So you have to listen and watch very carefully the first couple of times you do this workout.

This is a very physically challenging workout, yet it is easy to learn. There are not any complicated moves or patterns. However it can be a little repetative which can get a little boring. This is still a very good workout though.
