The Fall of the House of Usher/The Pit and the Pendulum (DVD, 2005)

For anybody who likes Vincent Price movies, this is the perfect buy. Both movies are great, Edgar Allen Poe classics and it is cheaper than buying both of the DVD's seperate. I would recommend this to anyone.

This is an awesome Edgar Allen Poe double feature.
The Pit & The Pendulum has always been my favorite Vincent Price movie. A man arrives at the castle demanding to see his sister, but is told by both her husband & her doctor that she died a mysterious death. Price plays the part of the husband, and claims that his father was insane & killed his mother when he caught her cheating with his brother. This was done in his torture chamber in the basement where the bodies remained. Little by little, Price becomes posessed by his late father, and ... well, you'll just have to watch the movie to enjoy the twist at the end.
In tacky 60's style, The Fall of the House of Usher is about a desperate man who visits his fiance at her spooky home with her crazy brother (Vincent Price) who won't let the couple be together due to the strange family illness which claimed the lives of all other Usher relatives who were, of course, buried in the basement.
These are both excellent movies, but I rated them GOOD due to bad acting, which actually give the old movies their sense of character.

This movie was as clear as if it were new. It was an excellent find. Albeit it was not a fast paced "slasher", blood gushing movie, it still holds your attention along with keeping you guessing what happens next. As with all of Vincent Price's movies - they have an interesting twist at the end.

Great deal. Needed it for my classroom library. Students enjoyed it. Two great features. No complaints.

Two very good old movies together in this set. Nothing like modern horror, but just as good.Vincent Price is great in both movies and the extras are interestings as well. If you like old horror flicks, you will love this set.

Not even too gory or scary for the smaller youngsters (age 10 and up).

I bought it to use in my English classes. DVD has replaced the VHS that was worn out after years of use.

The Fall of the House of Usher/The Pit and the Pendulum (2005, DVD)...great movies. The buy it now price was excellent, as was the service provided. Shopping on eBay is so easy and economical with gas at all time high and rising...it's fun to go to the mailbox and find packages full of goodies.

this movie is one of the forgotton classics that was great in its own little way. it was under budgeted and had at least one well known actor, Vincent Price. To have him in this movie makes it just that much better. The DVD also has The Pit and The Pendulum with it. these two movies, both cinematic versions of the short stories written by Edgar Allen Poe.

When I was younger, I didn't appreciate the masters in the movie industry. Bogart, Bacall, Price, Karloff, Hope, Lewis, Martin,Gable, O'Hara etc. - 30 years later, I can't get enough. Movies of 30, 40, 50+ years ago are a must see. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this DVD and you will too. Today's world is so in your face - these movies actually take you away from all that. They are just amazing. From funny to thrilling - you'll get hooked! I certainly did. I'm catching up on all the great movies I missed as a kid and enjoying every minute of it!

Just as good as I remember from my childhood. Vincent Price at his best. If you enjoy a good old fashioned horror flick, without the slasher effects in the new movies than you would enjoy these. Vincent Price could read the alphabet and with that voice of his send chills down your spine. They are both very good B movies, not alot of fxs, they were not high budget movies, but they are very enjoyable. Saturday night, lights out and a bowl of popcorn. Sounds good to me.

Love the DVD. Bought it for a Christmas gift for daughter, who is an avid reader of Poe. She told us she wanted the movie of "The Pit and The Pendulum" and we found it on ebay. The transaction went smooth and we received it quickly. We have always had good experiences with sellers and this one was good also. We were very glad to find this movie because it is an older release and not an easy find any where else.
