The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) by Black Eyed Peas (CD, Jun-2009, Interscope Records USA)

When I learned that the BEP'S were releasing a new album I was excited. However, upon purchasing the E.N.D. and undertaking several listening sessions, I have to say that this album is a major disappointment. As a fan I know that the main themes the group consistently talks about is partying and global unity. The problem is that those themes have gotten stale. I think that they need to come up with fresh material.

All the songs sound similar to each other with little variation, or too identical to tracks from their previous albums "Elephunk" and "Monkey Business". One of the songs even has Fergie singing a line that is the same style as "Ferglicious" off her "Duchess" album. The Peas need new original material, instead of resorting to samples from other artists like Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" on the song "Electric City" and Rob Base "it Takes Two" on the song "Rock That Body".

The standouts are the catchy and highly played "Boom Boom Pow" and "Rock That Body" where the Rob Base song "It Takes Two" is sampled and acts as an anchor to save the song.

This material leaves much to be desired. With most forgettable songs, I rate The E.N.D. a grade of D.

The CD was just OK in my opinion. I expected a much better piece of work based on the previous work I've heard from this group. Buy it CHEAP or not at all. I wish I hadn't!!

I thought it was awesome. it has a lot of bumping bass. I liked the whole cd, not just one or two songs on it.I would definitely recommend it.

After hearing the song "Boom, Boom, Pow" by this group numerous times at a favorite restaurant, I did a Google search using some of the lyrics in the song so that I could find out the song's title and the name of the artist who sings it. Thanks to this search, I was then able to order a copy of this album. So now, even though I still very much enjoy going to my favorite restaurant and hearing the DJ spin tunes, I can hear that "thumpin', pumpin', bumpin'" bass sound whenever I want to. I had heard the song at the restaurant numerous times, and I wanted to own a copy of a CD containing that particular song. So I'm thankful! And if you want to know what I like about it, three words: the boomin' bass. Peace, Y'all.

I love the black eyed peas. I love the new cd. I has great new rhythm. Th songs are easy to understand. Thy are the best cd of the year according to me.
