The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber (1995, Paperback, Updated)

Easy to read. It was recommended by a business consultant and hit home in several areas. I would recommend it to anyone running their own business.

This book should be read at least 10 times by everyone that has their own small business. This book will help the person that is thinking of going into business, or the guy that has been in business for serveral years.

In this book the author discusses the flaw in normal people starting their own buisseness and the way to approach subects such as organization, hiring, and all you need to know about buisseness, but I have things to do. The author has obvious experience and has spent significant time researching small and large buisseness. READ THIS BOOK!

Whether you are a phone installer or an interconnect as we are called, currently have a business or thinking about starting one, this book I am reading will really hit home. You will look at your business through a different set of eyes.

This one paragraph really hit home..."It is the work you're not doing, the strategic work, the entrepreneuial work, that will lead your business forward, that will give the life you've not yet known." Being consumed by the tactical work of the business leads to only one thing: a complicated, frustrating, and eventually, demeaning job!"

Also, he points a bigger picture. " The purpose of going into business is to get free of a job so you can create jobs for other people."

"The purpose of going into business is to expand beyond your exisiting horizons. So you can invent something that satisfies a need in the marketplace that has never been satisfied before. So you can live an expanded, stimulating new life."

The book is an easy entertaining read, with Gerber's story telling ability you can breeze through it.

As a business coach, I have a lot of my clients who own their own businesses read this book. I think it takes people through the basic mindsets needed to be a successful entrepreneur. The idea of working on your business instead of only in your business is critical for long term success. It is simple to read, and has incredibly useful tools that are easily implemented. I highly recommend it.

I did not purchase the product. I did try to, however, the communication from the seller was lacking. I presume the seller was new to EBAY at the time but definitely needs to learn the trade before continuing to auction or sell any other products. The payment the seller wanted to receive was a cashier's check or money order but a name and address of where to mail payment was never given! Poor seller...very diappointing experience for me. To top it the seller marked my 100% positive feedback with a negative rating. Ebay did disregard that though after I explained the situation.

This is a very good book. The author has very valid ideas.
I don't like his writing style. But the concepts are very good.

Just to have a more accurate knowledge about the pros and cons of opening a small business and also know what to do if things go wrong somehow.

It is the required book for my entrepreneurship class. Great book!! interesting reading! It uses living examples to illustrate the the art of entrepreneurship!!
