DALEKMANIA!!

This is definitely not the Doctor Who you are used to. These films were made in the 60's during the original tenure of Willian Hartnell as the original Doctor. The films are both based on scripts from series that chronicle encounters with the Daleks, The Doctor's most popular enemy.
That being said, you should definitely watch these if you have the opportunity. Peter Cushing is fabulous as The Doctor and almost makes you wish he would have done a stint on the show. The Dalek action is creepy and cool. While the evil plot of the second movie is laughable, fine direction and acting make it seem intense and scary.
The English people at the time of the making of these films were caught up in what was called Dalekmania which is the partial subject of the documentary. People could not get enought of the frightening machines from Skaro and a huge marketing campaign ensued. Toys, books, blankets. lunchboxes. etc. to rival the American obsessions with Star Wars and Star Trek were found in every shop in London. It is fascinating to watch.
