The Division Bell by Pink Floyd (CD, Apr-1994, Columbia USA)

For the most part The Division Bell is all about the mellow dreamy side of Floyd. Regardless of what the critics and other reviewers say, this is another masterpiece by Gilmour. The standout track is High Hopes which is at the top of my list of Pink Floyd tunes. It's hands down my favorite Gilmour song. If you're looking for the rocking side of Floyd you might want to pass this one up. The rest of you need this in your collection. 5 Stars.

This release was not critically acclaimed. This release was in fact not completely accepted by old-school Floyd fans. This release is different than anything else the band had done up to its point (1994)...but for me, that was exactly the point, and reason why I like it so much. It is a very "mature" release, deals with loss, deals with introspective issues ie: "What do you want from me" "you can sell your soul for complete control, is that really what you need?" "you can lose your selfish pride, see inside, there is nothing to hide, turn and face the light". Yes, profound lyrics are the hallmark of Division Bell. I was lucky enough to see the band perform in the Ohio State University football stadium lovingly known as "The Shoe" during the tour that followed this years release and let me tell you, the band was great, this music is great and anyone who can't recognize that fact maybe should give it more of a chance and try to not compare it to anything that came before it.

yet another classic from pink floyd. Its no Dark Side, but hey..what is? Very easy listening ENJOY

simply entrancing is one of the best ways to put it. the songs and lyrics have so much meaning and depth to it, which makes this one of their best CD's

Hey Pink Floyd Rocks I love their live shows from 1987 til 1994. Pink Floyd puts on a great concert. Alot of their songs such as HIGH HOPES remind me of childhood ,of how good it was then .I can relate to COMING BACK TO LIFE and TAKE IT BACK . I'm sure alot of you could relate to these songs if you'd really listen to them . LOST FOR WORDS has some really good acoustic guitar . I have played guitar for many years and I believe David Gilmour is the best I've ever seen .He can play electric , classical and steel .If I had a choice , I'd want to play just like him . I'm always talking about PF and I try to get others to check them out. The four songs I mentioned are from DIVISION BELL . HIGH HOPES , COMING BACK TO LIFE and TAKE IT BACK are also on the PULSE dvd . Hey , if you are a Pink Floyd fan , You gotta see PULSE .... please ? Do yourself a favor . Thanks wannameucci

recording is growing on me, loved 'Momentary lapse or reason' and hoped that 'division bell' was at least as good, but it's still growing on me. product is excellent and seller did outstanding in distribution.

THIS IS MY SECOND REPLACEMENT OF THIS GREAT CD. I JUST HAD TO FIND AND BUY THE CD WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE SONG HIGH HOPES. IT JUST PUT ME IN A RELAXED STATE OF MIND. the more i listen to this cd the better it sounds-a must for floyd fans,my favorit is still wish you were here-this is differant yet very good listening music

I bought this CD a week ago and am very pleased with it. However, when used with iTunes, the album labels do not display as with American albums. But it is a great purchase non the less.

The best band ever. This cd while not the best they made, is classic floyd. It allows the mind to expand as you listen to the mix of the band

I bought this for me! I love Pink Floyd and I think this is one of their best albums. Why did I decide to buy it? It was a great deal and the seller was super kind.

AN OK CD, SOUNDING LIKE THEY WERE REACHING THE END OF THEIR CREATIVITY, MOST PEOPLE BELIEVE A LOT OF THE NEGATIVITY ON THIS WAS DIRECTED TO THEIR FORMER BANDMATE WHO SUED THEM TO TRY AND GET THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO THE NAME PINK FLOYD(WHICH HE LOST IN COURT)

I bought this CD as a christmas present for a friend. I didn't like giving him a CD that wasn't wrapped or sealed, but it was cheap, so I was able to buy him another CD with the difference. Overall a good deal.

The first few times I heard Division Bell I didn't like it much, but it has grown on me over the years. Much mellower than early Floyd (more "mature" gag!)
but also not as cohesive. Still, a great listen & enjoyable as I age toward my dotage.

it's pink floyd we love the pink we have alot of there music it's a little different than the normal floyd. but if you like floyd you will like this one. we do. so give it a try.

pink floyd is really soothing music to my ears.i grew up listening to the floyd.and im getting all my pink floyd cd's together again and this is the best place to get there music right here on ebay.thanx to the seller / sellers who sell them.
