The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby (2007, Paperback)

This book picks up where Volume One left off, with excellent tips and advice many of us wouldn't think of. If I have one complaint about this book, it's that it covers portrait and wedding photography in great detail. Since that's not my area of interest, I simply skipped those parts and concentrated on areas which do, such as landscapes and travel.

While these books may be too basic for many, they're very beneficial to those of us who are learning as we go. I've even gotten used to Scott's (different) brand of humor. All in all, an excellent addition to your reference library.

With humor and easy to follow guidelines, Scott Kelby makes it easy for a know-nothing photographer like me to take amazing digital pictures! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn how to take great digital pictures without having to take expensive courses or slog through difficult to understand "instruction manuals".

If you buy a camera and want to learn this is a great way to start. Buy all three of Scott Kelby's book and have your camera in hand as you read. Read a chapter and take a few shots, then continue reading! MUST READ for all Starting Photographers.

I got the first book and liked it so well that I had to get the second. The second book was just as full of tips and techniques on how to take great shots as the first.

WHAT I LIKE? EVERYTHING!! Is like having a PRO answer questions that you would not normally think of asking like, what type of TRIPOD is best for travel as a beginner myself i REFUSE TO PART WITH THESE 2 VOLUMES!!the amount of information it is simply AMAZING i dont think that there is any type of shots that these books do not cover except perhaps underwater photo.. Scott tells it like it is in plain language for us beginners and some amateurs to understand LENSES,SETTINGS,EQUIPMENT,YOU NAME IT,he explains it..BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOURE SERIOUS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, IT IS MY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO START IT HAS BEEN FOR ME!!! like the way the book is set up. gives techniques the pros use and have taken them years to develope. we just get the advantage of knowing how it is done. covers a good range of shooting situations for both novice and pros. very concise do not have to read alot of pages to get to the point.

The book arrived in 6 weeks after paying for expedited shipping. But the product was as described and excellent.

Very to the point easy read. Not a lot of confusing thoery and minute detail, just how to do it. Very funny too.

This is an amazing book, very easy to understand. If you love photography but hate the technical jargon, this is the book for you. Even if you've been into photography for a while, this is such a down to earth, simple book with easy explanations to getting the perfect shot every time. I loved his first book as well. If you're not sure about it, I highly recomend it, you won't be dissapointed.

My title sums it up. Awesome book and once I started it, I couldn't stop. Read it completely the first time I laid eyes on it. I normally resell my books after I've read them but no way will I be parting with this one. Thanks for all the info Scott. I just ordered volume one now:)

I had the first Digital Photography book written by Scott Kelby, see my other reviews, and this one is just as good, or better, then the first. The book is a lot easier to understand then most photography books, and is laid out so it is very simple to understand. The layout is as if you are out on a photography trip with the author and ask him a question and he gives you a simple answer on how to do what you asked. It contains a wealth of information that expands on the first book. I would recommend that if you purchase this one to go ahead and purchase the first book as well. I will definitely be looking to see if a third ones is published, and if so will purchase it as well.
