My art median is embellishing vintage items be it purses, clothing, hats or jewelry. This book is excellent with regards to embellishing a vintage purse. Making a personal statement with your own style on something that already exists. I bought the book because it guides you through some of the processes of embellishment and shows exquisite pictures of the end product. For crafters engaged in this type of art median, I highly recommend the style of this author and the contents of the book.

For start up byers of purse it will be best book to buy it. I beleive also that handmade bags as practical as designers ones. Shown in full-page color photographs, purses, envelopes, totes, and shoulder bags are accompanied by simple, step-by-step directions. Most of the designs are created by embellishing inexpensive store-bought bags, but patterns for sewing four popular styles are also included. From a velvet purse with a faux leopard lining and shimmering rhinestones to a casual knitted tote decorated with vintage buttons, The Decorated Bag presents an array of stylish bags for every occasion.

I wanted a book that would give me a creative set of ideas to make unique bags to carry on special occasions. I found the book met my expections and offered clear and helpful designs and pictoral directions. I recommend the book as helpful and offers creative possabilitys.
