The concept behind this movie is scary. It comes down to you never truely know what is going to happen with the weather or ice caps or anything. The movie seemed a little fast past for the events it was doing but great story line. It's also really scary to watch this movie then have the weather act weird in real life. While it isn't the end of the world in this movie, it is a life changing thing that could happen. It also gets you thinking more about the weather and global changes.

The theme of the movie was great and the special effects were fantastic! Unfortunately some sections of the movie lacked dialog that equaled the actors and effects. I began watching the film expecting it to be mostly a disaster movie, but it turned out to have a real story to it and I came away enjoying it much more. On the upside, there was commentary on environmental issues and politics. What I also thought worked well was the human struggle against nature and the unexpected. On the downside, as I said, was some of the dialog, and there were too many of the "must have" side stories lines within the story line, such as the teen love story, parent - child struggle, and the coming of age story, along with a few more. It seemed to diminish a few of the characters because there wasn't enough time to explore each story line. I think the movie would have been stronger with less of these side stories. I recommend this movie inspite of its flaws. The main story and special effects far over come the weaknesses. It makes for a great night with friends and/or family and a big bowl of popcorn.

It may be kind of morbid, but I love end of the world type movies, so if this describes you too, I suggest you look into buying this movie. THe special effects are awsome, and Jake isn't too bad either! :)

A really great movie that makes you think about what is going to happen and when? If we don't do something drastic soon we can expect the worst scenario possible to occur. The planet can and will only take so much before the damage we have done and are continuing to do at an astounding rate will catch up with us. If humankind manages to survive will be a serious question no one at this time knows the answer to. It is a good possibility that a few pockets hear and there ill survive. But our way of life will surely not survive. Its a spooky thought but a reality we now live with daily. The movie shows one drastic possibility of what could happen. The problem is that it is an all to real possibility.

The Day After Tomorrow is an interesting work of Fiction. The movies main idea is that humans have changed the environment so fast that the world basically goes berserk. You get massive snow storms that act like cyclones that instantly turn the area it effects into a new ice aged like area.
Toss into this a number of pre-disasters of tornadoes, floods, tidel waves, and such and it is fun to watch.
The acting is not that bad and the natural disaster shots are pure eye candy.

I love the fact that the casting is amazing in this moive! i love the fact that dennis quaid plays the dad and worries about his son's safety.
there are some far fetched things in this movie, like the fact that the wolves survived the cold. and that there "happened" to be a ship outside the library with the medical supplies they needed. right. like that is gonna happen!!

I love this movie because it shows some crazy effects that extreme weather would have on the world. The movie special effects are great, showing New York flooded and everything freezing to the point of not even moving! A great movie for a night in or just whenever!

This movie has the best special effects I have yet to see. I would recommend everyone to see this at least once. It is interesting, and exciting throughout the movie. It makes you think about what is happening in the world today due to the climate change and what could happen to us. I can watch this movie over and over again. It is one you will enjoy and your children will too. There is absolutely nothing I did not like about this movie.

Great DVD!!!My son loves anything to do with weather. It is a great movie about global warming. If you are into weather, this is the movie for you. Action packed, we have watched it again and again. Makes you think that something like this can happen in the future. Keeps your attention from beginning to end. There's floods, snow, ice, deep freeze. The will to survive is awesome. Keeps you on your toes until the end. Who's going to make it out? You'll have to watch to find out! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Good sci-fi movieThis is a good movie as far as action and special effects, but be sure to remember that it is science fiction. Some of the animation is below par (the wolves), but overall, it was enjoyable to watch. It's too bad that so many political, so called "scientists" hijacked this movie to support their global warming panic attacks on the world.

Living Up to the HypeWe bought this movie because it had gotten such rave reviews. Many times movies promoted with such hype are just that "hype." So, with equal anticipation for a flop or a gem we sat down to watch this movie.
While the subject seems so unreal. The current foul weather of the past few years has proved no less traumatic for those who have endured it. This movie had real people facing the elements with real consequences to characters. And, much like our real-life government there was the authentic bureaucratic disbelief that leads our government to believe that mother nature should abide by our rules. A great movie worth watching and owning.

The Day After Tomorrow/DVDI enjoyed watching this movie the first time, so decided to buy it. Besides I am updating my movies from VHS to DVD. Buying Dvd's from Ebay is so much nicer and easier.
