The Darjeeling Limited (DVD, 2008, Dual Side)

This is one of the most refreshing films I have seen in a long while. True escapism without complication. Lots of visual beauty along with great music really create a mood altering experience with no narcotics needed. There is also a great sense of freedom associated with the three main characters that transfers a bit to the viewer, well...at least until we have to go back to work the next day.

I just love this movie. So deep and light at the same time. The oldest brother, the middle brother and the youngest brother. PERFECTION in characters. As the oldest of 6, I knew how it would have to be to be true-to-life. It was all that and more, sometimes in heart-breaking ways. But I swear it's HILARIOUS!...oh, and stunningly beautiful. You have to watch it twice to see it all. A must-see, especially for anyone with brothers or sisters.

WE love quirky movies, and this one is at the top. Great story line, excellent acting, Brody,Schwartzman,and Wilson have a great chemistry together onscreen and you believe every minute of this film. I have seen it 4 times already, and would happily watch again and again. I have told everyone I know to see this film, it's that good. It will make everyone want to go on a spiritual journey.

Not a film that everyone will love but it has a remarkable creative insight into the chemistry of a family. Interesting mixture of story telling techniques and creative film style to deliver a message. I bought it because it is one of those movies that needs to be watched more than once. I think this is one of those love it or hate it movies, Hope you love it.
Great acting, colorful locations, characters that you won't forget.
A little long but worth it.
Watch it with the short film first so you feel included in everything.

This movie is hilarious! It is subtle comedy so pay attention. If you like "the Office" then you will love this movie. I rarely watch a movie more than once, but I have watched this one about 10 times so far!

this is such a good movie. Francis (Owen Wilson), Jack (Jason Schwartzman) and Peter (Adrien Brody)are brothers on a spiritual quest after their father dies. they give up after having anything but a spiritual connection. but little do they know their journey thru india becomes just that. a spiritual connection and a connection for them as brothers. its so hilarious at parts. all above mentioned actors do a great job. i had to add this to my dvd library. hence the ebay purchase. ENJOY!

Ever since I first saw Bottle Rocket, I've been a fan of Wes Anderson's work. His films are always unique in every aspect -- the intellects of the characters, the selected soundtrack, and the cinematography just to name a few key awesome points. The Darljeeling Limited lived up to and surpassed all of my Andersonian expectations with expert casting (I fail to see how a story involving Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, AND Jason Schwartzman could NOT be incredible). The tale of the fractured relationship between three brothers and their subsequent self-discovery with the backdrop of gorgeous Indian scenery is unparalleled in its cinematic vision than any film I've seen in a long time. Not to mention, the short film with Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman that precedes the film (Hotel Chevalier) is absolutely delightful down to the intricacies of setting and selected music. Even of you've never had the pleasure of viewing a Wes Anderson film before, The Darjeeling Limited is a gem you're sure to be able to appreciate

OK, so...I'm a fan of all things Wes Anderson. Do I need to list them?...there's Bottle Rocket (co-written with/and starring Owen Wilson), Rushmore (co-written with Owen Wilson), The Royal Tenenbaums (co-written with/and starring Owen Wilson), and Life Aquatic (starring Owen Wilson). And now The Darjeeling Limited (starring Owen Wilson).
This movie does not disappoint. I think the addiction of Adrian Brody into the mix was a great choice (I loved him in the Spike Lee movie 'Son Of Sam', check that out if you haven't already seen it.)
This movie has that same special something that IS a Wes Anderson film. That uncertain zaniness.
If you're like me and you enjoy all of the other Wes Anderson movies, I think you'll enjoy this one as well, and you'll also want to add it to your collection. It's a keeper!

Most will say this is a narrative of Brothers on a spiritual journey through India to find themselves and unite with their elusive mother. On the surface you see three very different brothers each with his own quirky sometimes OCD personality trying to cope with life's situations while traveling through India on the Darjeeling Limited...but is it really...From subtle clues throughout the movie and especially the end, I believe this movie really Chronicles the life of a single individual and various phases in his life..Remember the cameo appearance by Bill Murray... Watch it for first time or watch it again..
You will love this movie and you can decide. Either way, it is a sweet, poignant and moving movie..

Ok so i guess Im like a huge fan of Wes Anderson films and I feel in love with Jason Schwartzman ever since Slackers, and obviously his work in all Anderson's films, especially Rushmore prob, up intill Darjeeling Limited, my fav. I really also enjoyed Adrien Brody the film was awesome and deffinatly recommended I would also like to say that I'm pretty sure this, and all, Wes Anderson films get funnier and funnier every time you watch them so keep watchin and enjoy Darjeeling Limited its deff one to own

i bought it thinking that it was going to come in a case, but it didnt the guy that sold it had gotten it from blockbuster online and just send it in the little envelope that it came in mailed to his house. i was totally decieved because in the description it said that it was going to come in a case and it didnt i got bamboozled, and i'm pretty pissed about it. DONT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!! NOT EVERTHING IS WHAT YOU SEEM!!!

This family of boys, has gone insearch of mom. Typically Americans are divorced, their families spread out, and relationships are left to question. The train comes in handy, to tell a story of a country's hardship, during these times of higher than ever gas prices. I'd question today's politicians who'd remove gas taxes, and allow our roads to go further into a state of decay. This movie examines India's countryside, and state of virtual poverty, as the boys travel along by train. In this spiritual journey, under taken by these three brothers, to find the same sort of answers, that we're all looking for. The real question getting asked here is, "who is mom", and what makes her tick?

Three brothers set off across India on a train with a plan to reconnect and find themselves and bond with each other after a year of not speaking. They have a series of adventures, encounters, and unplanned detours that let them rediscover each other. A very entertaining film, I recommend to everyone, due to some adult themes it should be viewed only by mature viewers.

This is a great movie, its funny, artistic, quirky, sad, sweet, and real. About three brothers that have fallen apart, brought together by a trip through India that makes them depend on each other more than they ever had to. I personally really love movies that center around a two or three charchters, because you get to see a much deeper point of view in thier lives. The cast which includes Adrian Brody, Owen Wilson, and Jason Schwatzman, they are perfect together, and completley beliveable as brothers. If you want to have a change from the special effects, big explotions, and so-so acting, than try this!

One of the funniest movies ever made. If you love dry humor, you will love this movie! I was laughing from start to finish, excellent performances by all of the main players.
