I loved the movie and was both so taken and intrigued by the music featured in the Film that I dashed out to get the soundtrack and years later it remains one of my favorite CDs filled with obscure songs that work so well and sound great!
Primarily a rock CD with a gothic, industrial edge, The Crow features 14 soundtracks from a random and eclectic selection of artists! Beginning with Burn by the Cure....I was amazed and enlivened by this song in the movie, and it was by far my motivating factor in purchasing this CD. Having not been impressed by the Cure in recent years....for me this was their WOW song, which worked perfectly with the context of the film, and gave me renewed interest in their work!
Stone Temple Pilots deliver an almost blues inspired track with Big Empty, whereas Nine Inch Nails stick to their trademark industrial sound, which is always fresh and hard hitting with Dead Souls, Rage Against the Machine plays with sounds on their track Darkness, parts of which depart slightly from their traditional angst.
Rollins Band deliver a hard hitting, powerful track with Ghost Rider - probably one of my favorite Rollins tracks, and Helmet deliver their typical style with an almost tuneless track to powerful music that is an effective combination!!
I was not familiar with the band For love Not Lisa, but certainly appreciated Slip Side Melting; and loved the change of direction on the compilation brought about by Jesus and Mary Chain - Snakerider. The CD certainly builds up, with tracks getting progressively heavier and more industrial, then slowing down with Medicine and finally Jane Sidberry's haunting "Can't rain all the time" which correlates to a line used in the movie and ends the Cd with a gentle, soft melody which speaks to viewers of this film!
If you like industrial and new wave metal and are a fan of The Crow, this is a top choice and one of my personal favorite soundtracks of all time!

I recently made a "Top Ten Albums I've Experienced In My Lifetime" list. This was one of the ten. This album, even though it is a soundtrack, has pulled together some of the best talents from the eighties to the mid-nighties to make one of the most eclectic, yet themeatically accurate depictions of a story that was seriously underrated. The CD boasts a good balance of old school goth with newer goth and alt rock that begs to be played again, again, and again.

This soundtrack is the only one I've ever found worth buying. If you like the movie, you probably already know that the music is well suited to the genre of flick that it is. One of my favorite albums of all time, it's packed with everything from slow music that makes your soul bleed a little, to furious punching rhythms that make you want to destroy!!
All in all, I find it to be a fitting tribute to Bruce Lee's son, Brandon, who died part of the way through filming (conspiracy theories abounded). The movie blew me away when it was released, and even today I can make it past the, then astounding, now somewhat cheapened special effects to enjoy one of the truly great movies of my time.
The soundtrack is different only in the regard that good music never dies; and every time I listen, it feels like I catch a glimpse (I hope) into the soul of a superstar who died far too young! RIP Brandon Lee - know you've enriched my life!!!!

i love this soundtrack. i never had the chance to buy it before because when the movie was out i was ok cool soundtrack watched the movie last month and i said i have to this soundtrack in my collection. still sounds just as good with it being released in 1984. music still sounds great. great item to have if you love the movie you will love the soundtrack even more.

) great soundtrack to a great movie. with bands like: the cure, stp, nin,rage against the machine, violent femmes, rollins band, helmet, PANTERA, for love not lisa, my life with the thrill kill kult, the jesus and mary chain, medicine, and jane siberry. pantera's the badge is a rare pantera track, and is a must hear for any pantera fan. check it out and "getcha pull"

Great compilation...the sad part is that is that most of the groups on the disk are not producing music at this point and time as well as the star of the movie..the weakest part of the disk comes at the end there is a weak muchy section that really does not belong on a soundtrack of a soul brought back from the dead!!!

The CD was in decent condition but it was in a blank case. The picture displayed on EBay showed the cover art, leading me to believe it was in the original case, or at least came with the front sleeve.

...luckily everyone bought it for the songs they liked...but couldn't see the point keeping it on the rack for the rest. There are some early 90s gems here, well worth a dollar a song, which about adds up to what it cost to ship out a copy.
Buy it, hold it up, and prepare for the glorious day when we don't have to buy a whole album of crap to get the one new song by a favored artist.

The first song was the best out of all of them. There were a few others that were good. There was one song that only heavy-metalist would like. All around a great movie album.
