Here is why I bought the Roseville book. My son and I buy and sell antiques and collectibles. Recently, he brought me a piece of Roseville he had purchased for an unbelievably low price. I looked at it and it didn't look right to me but I had no references to compare it to. I ordered the reference book in order to find out the pattern name, see what it should look like for comparison and see if there were any other reference points. I was not concerned with current prices as I pretty well knew those if this piece was real. Therefore, I picked out the least expensive, used book. The book looked like new when it arrived, it had an excellent picture of the piece we own and I now know, sadly that we have a reproduction because the book states this piece should not be embossed on bottom and ours was.So you see, I was happy with book, unhappy with pottery.
