Ever since seeing SPIRITED AWAY, I've been a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. With charismatic and magical stories and beautiful animation Miyazaki's films have a charm that appeal to young and old alike.
THE CAT RETURNS is another beautiful story about reaching for your dreams and learning to believe in yourself. A school girl named Haru saves a cat from being hit by a truck on her way home from school, and she's astounded to find out that not only can the cat talk, that he's the prince of the Kingdom of Cats. She's then kidnapped and taken to The Kingdom of the Cats, where she is expected to marry the prince!
With the help of Baron, a cat figurine, she must learn to believe in herself, or risk being transformed into a cat forever! Starring the incredible voice talents of Anne Hathaway, Cary Elwes, Peter Boyle, Elliot Gould, and Tim Curry, THE CAT RETURNS is a magical, animated adventure perfect for the entire family! This is one my daughter and I can watch together, and we'll be returning again and again for THE CAT RETURNS.

The Cat ReturnsThis is a great movie that follows up on 'Whispers of the Heart' perfectly. About a little Girl who saves a cat only to have a misadventure in Cat World. Again this is a great movie but a bad parody of the Wizard of Oz.

The Cat ReturnsMy granddaughter, six years of age, loves this movie. We could not find it locally and this is all she wanted for her birthday, thank goodness for E-Bay.
Would recommend also Spirited Away by the same creators.

It's a short and sweet cartoon. Love the whole thing about cats going on. It's cute how they get to stand up, get dressed, and talk like people. The story is very original, refreshing. It is suitable for any viewer. Anybody would fall in love with this movie. I'm so in love I watch it everyday!

just long enough so that children don't get tired of watching it. all about believing in yourself and sticking to your beliefs. their was nothing that i dislike about this movie. i bought it because my daughter loves this movie and all other hayoa miyazaki films.

Very nice movie..my 8-year old loves it!! She watched it 2 times the first day i got it in the mail. A very nice adaptation from the Japanese version with the English dubbing.

A good movie for younger children with a fairy tale type story. The Cat is the Baron from the movie, "Whispers of the Heart", but don't expect the same storyline as Whispers. We thought this would be a sequel, but the story is about the adventures of the Baron helping a young girl who saves a cat from being run over, only to be chosen to marry a cat prince and is taken away against her will. Like I said, this a good movie for children, just don't expect it to compare and/or continue Whispers great story line.

I have a copy of "The Cat Returns" in the original Japanese with English dialogue, but I was unable to figure out the graphic language to hear it in Japanese, only Chinese which, being used to listening to Japanese, was hard on the ears. I found this item while looking for an English dubbed version and subsequently bid on and won it. I have since watched it and the quality was excellent. Haha, a footnote; After watching the show in the English, I was able to translate some of the characters on the original disc and have since watched it twice in the Japanese with English sub-titles. I am not sure which version I like best although the English version gave me some of the extras to watch about the making of the movie.

My mom got me this movie for christmas and it was pretty funny. I have some of the studio ghibli films and all of the them were great and anyone who like's cat's should buy it.

Vibrantly colorful and light hearted. After Haru saves a cat about to get hit by a truck she is visited by the Cat King who wants to reward her, turns out the cat she saved was his only son. She is then swept into a magical cat kingdom against her wishes to marry the prince she saved. Along the way she meets a very debonair cat (voice of Cary Elwes) who teaches her that if she believes in herself she will be able to accomplish anything. Once again a wonderful Studio Ghibli film the whole family will enjoy.

Great Movie Highly recomend it to everybody that likes miyazaki's movies! If you do like this movie get Whisper of the Heart it is the prelude of this movie.

This movie is a good natured, heart warming tale. It is definitely geared more for children than some of the other Studio Ghibli films. Dont get me wrong, adults will enjoy it, but there are others that are more entertaining available.

This is the kind of movie you would watch when resting your children down for a nap, or a light movie just to watch during the day. It's very sweet and calming, my third favorite Mayazaki Movie. It's very creative and very much on the funny side. Entertaining and light! I strongly recommend this movie to the ages of 2-16. I enjoyed watching this movie with my family.
