I like the courage that it took for her to do what she did. She also stayed stong after the community turned on her and her strengh for her kids. It was a good movie.

Back when this film first aired 25 years ago, I was skeptical that I would like this film. I was shocked by Ms. Fawcett's performance. I rooted for her character. I wanted her to get away from her abusing husband. Paul LeMat plays that abusive husband you'd love to take a whack at. I was glad that she did what she had to to get away from him. It leaves you with a lump in your throat. This film marked the second of Ms. Fawcett's serious roles that she would do in her career (the fist serious role was in 1980's Murder In Texas). We lost Farrah this year to cancer at the age of 62. You don't have to be a fan of Ms. Fawcett's to add this film to your movie library, you just have to like good, well made films. This film is based on actual characters and events. The MGM DVD of this film features a good transfer of the film. Seeming like a newer film than a 20 year old film, as it was when issued on DVD in 2004. A Must Have For Any Movie Collection.

Stimulated a lot of discussion. Presented abusiveness in easy to understand scenerios.
Excellent movie to depict the slow slide into abuse.

I bought this movie because I teach Anger Management and Batterers Intervention classes. I show this movie to court ordered batterers. It helps them understand what the woman goes thru and why they would not want their own spouce to be in the same predicament.

Farrah Fawcett does an excellent job in this movie in her portrayal of a beaten and battered wife in the 1970's. Many big name actors/actresses the give an award winning performance.

This is a MUST HAVE movie for any person who loves True Stories.

excellent movie, really shows the horrors of domestic abuse that some women suffer from. Farrah Fawcett was a truly gifted actress.

I liked the movie when it first came out and wanted one of my own so I bought this one. I like Farrah Fawcett and thought she done a good job. Also my husband worked with the real Francine Hughes and her children went to the school I drive bus for after the incident happened and they moved away.

Years ago I saw Farrah Fawcett's performance in this film through Life Time television, and I have always wanted the movie, but was unaware that it was available on DVD. After Ms. Fawcett's death, I realized the DVD/VHS would become available since this is one of her most notable films and was pleased to find the DVD for sale. The seller was very honest in his/her description and the DVD arrived at my home in no more than a week after its purchase. I was impressed with the delivery time. The DVD arrived in mint condition. There were no scratches or discrepancies in the picture once I played it. This is a fantastic product and fantastic seller.

Well, I havent recieved it. Bought it from an ebay-seller but they got my adress all wrong so it was returned back. I recieved a mail from them where they asked me if I wanted a refund or my movie. I answered I wanted the movie since I had just read the book and was taken by it. They answered they were going to send it to my edited shipping adress but a few days later I got my refund and have not seen the movie yet. I will try a different ebay-seller next time, because I will try and purchuse it again.
