This guy is a jerk and will rip you off. DO NOT BUY FROM HIM! It has been over a month and I still have not received my movie. I did email him and he responded back saying that he was busy but it would be out by the end of the week, and that was 3 weeks ago.

The Bucket List is a must see!

This is a wonderful story about life, love, death, and friendship. They couldn't have picked 2 better actors to portray these characters. I thought I was going to see a comedy. Instead, what I saw was a well written and directed movie with a beautiful story line and message. It shows that God does work in mysterious ways and that we should always live each day as if it is our last one!!!!!

Two friends dealing with the inevitable Q of mortality
Review created: 05/23/08

Although this movie is portrayed as a comedy, the overall tone of the film is much more serious- even heartwrenching at times. The acting of Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman is STUPENDOUS- and you should definitely be prepared to shed some tears.

Carter (Freeman) and Edward (Nicholson) become friends when they are forced to share a room in the hospital's cancer wing. Although they are polar opposites- Carter has lived frugally and Edward is a millionaire, Carter is mild mannered and Edward is harsh... thier common experience battling cancer brings them together, as they reflect on the lives they have lived and discuss thier dreams for the future. But when they each receive the news that thier illnesses are terminal they decide to create the bucket list- a list of what each hopes to accomplish before they die. At once they decide to leave the hospital behind and travel all around the world to accomplish the items on thier list, all the while dealing with the question of mortality.

Although I refuse to divulge how this movie ends, I will tell you that it allows for a full resolution and a feeling of satisfaction that is sometimes missing when a film of this nature ends too quickly. Not the case here. And the very last line will definitely make you smile :)

A Great Way To Find Inner Peace & Reflection about Life
Review created: 07/18/09
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

It's true that "our lives are stream flowing into the same river toward whatever heaven lies in the mist beyond the falls. Close you eyes and let the waters take you home." This quote came directly from the film by Morgan Freeman's character as he narrates along parts of the movie about his feelings towards his life and about his new found friend.

Although Freeman's character had a wife and family in the film, it really didn't seem to matter about the time he had left to spend with them, he wanted something different for once out of his experience.

Although we get the idea from the beginning that Jack Nicholson was a bitter and frustrated individual who thought money could buy happiness, we find later that his heart had been cold to many important things in life such as his relationship with his daughter.

Here, we find to aging men who up until know, have led quite different lives, but, when faced with their own mortality, become good friends and decide that they will try and complete a bucket list. The list consists of things they both wanted to do before they died. One item on the list was skydiving. Another was to see something majestic. Another was to help a total stranger.

This film is a real downer most of the film, but has a fantastic lesson to teach us all about life. The most important message about this film to me was, that we all must work hard to find the Joy in our lives.

I'm going to give this film a 4/5 for its wit, zeal, and tackling spiritual issues that everyone could benefit from coming to grips with.

This is a great movie--lots of good dialogue and it is funny. We rarely go to the movies as it is easier to buy them and costs about the same or less.

  Heart and Soul

This is easily one of the best movies of the year. Nicholson is at his obnoxious best. The reality of cancer and it's treatment is as accurate as a movie can show. They find the humor in the situation, as survivors often do. Two different men brought together by a disease and building a special relationship even with the vast differences. Cancer unites many and this movie will touch survivors, caregivers and anyone affected by this disease and even those lucky enough not to be touched by it. More heart than most movies.

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman have always been two of my favorites. So I felt that this movie would be good. I was wrong! Good doesn't do it justice. It quickly went on my "Best Views" list. So I had to have it to watch whenever I wanted. The stores were all sold out. (I wasn't alone!) I turned to eBay, and quickly had my DVD and at a much better price. Thanks eBay!

The bucket list - must see

Although this movie did not receive top ratings when it was in the theaters, it is a very entertaining movie. While some of the things the men wanted to do (a list of things to see and do before hitting the bucket) were extreme, the movie flowed well.

We saw the movie in the theater and wanted to see it again so we purchased the DVD. No regrets.

  Slow start, kinda sad movie
Review created: 07/08/08
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This movie starts out super slow. I really went into watching this movie wanting all the excitement I saw on the tv commericals. But sadly the fast pace life(adventures) last very very short in the movie. I know you go into this movie knowing they are going to die. But it still is sad when it happens. I liked the story line but really wanted more action(like in the tv ads). 4 outta 5

One of this years best - so far...

Many of us older men look for that one movie each year that will inspire us or give us something of interest to watch.

This movie is one of those movies.

The movie captures your attention from the start and the fun continues right to the end.

If you love life and want to see an uplifting movie put this one on the top of your list for 2008.

  Really sad movie...
Review created: 09/01/09

This movie was really sad. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried like a baby. I don't want to give
anything away, but with both main characters dying of Cancer, there's really only one way the
movie can go. There are so many funny moments, Jack and Morgan are a great comedy duo and
if they ever do another movie together, I'm there. But as funny as it was for the most part, there are
scenes of the reality of Cancer. The funniest, and saddest movie I've seen in a long time. I only
recommend this DVD to those who can handle some really sad stuff!! But, for those of you who
want to see one of the funniest movies of recent years, watch it, but consider skipping the end.

Nicholson and Freeman are Fantastic Together
Review created: 06/02/09

An odd flick, I think it stands in it's own category of movies. However, the chemistry of Nicholson and Freeman make dying affordable with their occasional good laughs provided. There were some out-of-place scenes and some they could do without but overall heartwarming.

Jack Nicholson/Morgan Freeman - two of my favorite actors. I have already seen this movie but wanted to have this to add to my DVD stash. This movie makes one stop and think - what would I really do if I knew when I was going to die? I try not to live my life that way. Every day I do what I can for the people that I love, my friends that I treasure, etc. Then when they die or I get sick, I won't have to say I wish I would have, could have or should have done whatever for whomever. Jack and Morgan play their respective roles to the hilt- a wonderful movie. Sad but maybe each of us needs to make our bucket list.

A very good balance (with acting)was represented here. Jack Nicholson with his always "I don't give a hoot attitude" and the lovely Morgan Freeman with his calm loving way that shows thru everything. The story line was good in the way that it was fresh, and thou a bit extreme, inventive. I liked it. I am not a writer though. So there's my review! Have a great day!
