The Book of Beads by Janet Coles, Robert Budwig (1990)

The photographs were excellent. This is a good book for someone just beginning
jewelry designing or pursuing an interest in beads. An informative guide on
beads and their history.

I like to learn anything about jewelry. The book is ok for a beginner to understand what the bead names are but that was about it. I think they should of put a couple more beginning projects in there.

I had borrowed this book from a friend and decided that I wanted one of my own. I expecially like the beading ideas provided in the book. However, some of the beading directions are a little difficult to understand for the novice beader as compared to other beading books. This book also provides suggestions when using different colors, such as blue, pastels, reds, etc. It also provides ideas for using different bead shapes. I would recommend this book for someone looking for design ideas.

This book is the bible of beads. I bought this copy as a replacement for one lost in a recent move. It is a must have for new beaders and a great refresher for the experienced.
