The Bigs (Xbox 360, 2007)

this is a great game for baseball fans everywhere. its mlb2k7 with an awesome twist. its a must have for baseball lovers.

Remember the good old days of NBA Jam? Taking a break from all the great basketball sims to play with a big headed Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan, just to make full court jumpers and double back flip slam dunks. Ahh...those were the days. Well, those days are back...this time with baseball. MLB 2K7 was awesome, but I had been looking forward to The Bigs since the 2K7 release. It's basically a great game of baseball with super unrealistic talents and power. It's extremely fun, but it gets old pretty quick. I got about 3/4 of the achievements in a matter of hours. If you like baseball games, or are simply a fan of the sport, go ahead and try this one out. I strongly recommend against purchasing this game as it's replay value is close to nil. Aside from the regular baseball mode, there are some mini games that are pretty cool. Again though, the novelty wears off pretty quickly.

the game is not realistic at all, if your lookig for an exciting game this would be it, but not an accurate baseball simulator. it reminds me of the old sluggfest games.

The graphics are above average and they are smooth. There is nothing that makes this game stand out as next gen though.

Sound: Great – 7/10
The music soundtrack is great, but the in game sounds and commentary is repetitive.

Gameplay: Great – 7/10
Smooth animations, great single player mode, and fast arcade style, this is a fun game to pick up an play.

Replay Value – Above Average 7/10
This is a good arcade style baseball game. It is fast paced, but gets old quick. Playing with others is the only benefit to this game.

This is a good, fast, arcade style baseball game, but it doesn't break any molds here. The power-up meter, and single player campaign make this game fun, and slightly addictive. Check it out.

I have now been playing this game for three straight days and I am still going. Great multiplayer, great single player and a mode that is amazing. That mode is home-run pinball and it may be the most addictive minigame ever. A must buy for all fans of baseball and fans of great games.

This game is good, its big like the name. Eat lots of candy and let your mom know you love her. Don't shave the cat. It will get mad. BTW if you're reading this you might want to wash behind your ears. You're welcome.

I don't even like baseball, but this game has got me addicted to playing it on my 360. This is the best baseball game I have seen on any system and I have been gaming along time. I can't say enough about this game. The grafics, sounds, and game play are excellant. You will not be disappointed in this game.

I love it because I am tired of slow, monotonous baseball games. The Bigs is an arcade style baseball game, meaning that the pace is fast and the games are action packed. The game has a quick learning curve and is easy to play. This game is a must-have.

Presentation- Definately has the feeling of a real-life thrilling baseball game.

Graphics- Animations are great, players look just like they do in real life, background is nice.

Sound- Commentary is nice, crowd sounds good, and the field noises are satisfactory.

Gameplay- Mini-Games are awesome, however some missing season modes stink, but its all good. However, the field controls are poor.

Lasting Appeal- You have no franchise to manage, but the mini-games, online multiplayer, and season modes will keep you busy for a while.

Overall- This is a nice baseball game, and if you are into baseball console games, don't wait any longer, and buy this baby!

If there is a sports franchise that needed a shot in the arm it's baseball (pun not originally intended). The Bigs brings back what made Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball games so much fun on the SNES - the gameplay is simple but really fun. The hitting and pitching is balanced - you can get good at both though.

The graphics are great and if you want a baseball game that is the true essence of an Arcade style gameplay - The Bigs is the only baseball game you will probably ever need.

Good game, the rookie challenge is a lot of fun and is quite challenging. The achievements are fairly easy to come by at first but then become very hard and require a bit of skill. All in all i would give this game an 8 (of 10). Pure fun especially the build up to the POWER BLAST when you are hitting. Worth $30-40 dollars NOT $60.

OK everybody is saying thi is like the old slugfest so i bout slugfest 20-04 and played it then played the bigs again and it is some things about it like slugfest but slugfest doesnt have a rookie challenge mode nor a home run pinball thingy which surprisingly is very pleasing every once and awhile ok besides all that crap down to the funness the game is pretty easy to get achievements on the rookie challenge mode is pretty solid too i was wanting a home run derby against like 9 people but all i got a a one on one game which isnt the greatest thing but i guess for like a multiplayer thing it is alright that is all i expected but still people would like to have a like a scenario mode and franchise mode but HEY! this isnt mlb 2k7 which by the way was pretty great but in the end the game is a goody buy but a great rent for a sports fan and his buddy WARNING not alot of retail value after u beat rookie challenge thanks for reading

Reminds you of the old sluggfest games? Whats the problem with that? Anyone who's played sports games knows that no other baseball game (with the exception of The Bigs) comes close to as good as the old sluggfest games were. They were a milestone for baseball games and the games sold numbers will prove it.

The game itself is very fun but the Rookie Challenge takes extreme luck to accomplish 100%. If you find it for under $10 then its a good buy.

The Bigs was really fun in my opinion, kinda cartoony with all the explosion hits and all..... but in a good way. Some people will probably not like that part about it but I think its cool.

Will probably get the new The Bigs 2 when it goes down in price.

The Bigs is a good arcade style baseball game with excellent graphics. It's the analagous to NBA street or NFL street in the sense you perform well and build up your power meter then unleash massively powerful swings or bring the heat on the mound. An overall very fun game for a relatively low price.

Since the more "realistic" baseball games have been slacking on quality lately this is a great alternative.

It is a very good game. I can play if for hours if my wife would let me. LOL. The only thing wrong with it was the case was cracked when I got it but that could have happened in shipping.
