One of the most beloved of these was "Peabody's Improbable History," which upended the standard boy-and-his-dog formula with the brainy talking canine Mr. Peabody and his "pet boy" sidekick Sherman. Together, the intrepid duo travelled back in time though the Wayback Machine to meet a host of famous people and help them make their historic discoveries--while Mr. Peabody delivered his share of trademark, groan-worthy puns. Clever and funny with a decidedly grownup appeal, this nostalgic collection presents 15 vintage Peabody and Sherman adventures, including visits with the Duke of Wellington, Beethoven, Magellan, and more. Reviews Review created: 04/14/08 by: A gem to the culturally savvy and those who lovingly remember the series. I'm showing the Shakespeare segment to my literature students. They'll love the inside jokes and puns. Review ID: 10000000006701814 Was this review helpful? Report this review ....what more can you say about childhood classics, such as this! I purchased this for my husband for Christmas, he has watched it twice now and we have friends that have asked if they can borrow it. As for my 6 & 4 year old boys, it hasn't caught their interest yet, but hopefully in the future. Review ID: 10000000002629425 Was this review helpful? Report this review I grew up watching Bullwinkle and Rocky and without a doubt my favorite characters were Mr Peabody and his boy Sherman and their Wabac machine . This DVD has 15 recollections of improbable history including Pancho Villa, Florence Nightingale, and Ludwig Van Beethoven. The DVD wasn't long enough, it really only gave me a hankering for more of Mr. Peabody and Sherman's adventures and terrible puns. Great DVD, well worth the money Review ID: 10000000002017112 Was this review helpful? Report this review I bought this DVD because this was one of the cartoons I watched when I was a kid. I loved it then and I still love it! At times it is politically incorrect but remember this was made in a time when no one was afraid of being sued for sneezing or laughing! But then again compared to cartoons now a days it is quite tame!! Review ID: 10000000001021167 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
