The Best of Badfinger by Badfinger (CD, Jan-1997, Prime Kutz)

Do not buy this album if you are a fan of their original music and that's what you are expecting this to be. Basically it sounds like all they did was take their songs and "disco-ize"/remix them with overpowering electronic drumming and an overall synthesized sound. I re-ordered a different 'Hits' album by the band a few days later to get this terrible taste out of my ears.

Tragic and haunting story hanging over this almost Van Gogh-like tragedy, as their ability to make money and acclaim like today's pop stars was not a huge story of success yet they were a major rock n' roll talent...Badfinger's music is kind of obscure nowadays and reading a such a sad book about them from the library forced me to rediscover Badfinger's hits that I remember vaguely as a child of the 60s...as majorly talented as the Beatles, from near the same English area-- some of their old songs were such beautiful English-style ballads (not just pop songs)!--find the old videos on Youtube...makes me appreciate this band, left now with only one surving member more than ever!

The title says Best of Badfinger by The Original Artist. I guess there must be a studio band named "The Original Artist", because this cd is not Badfinger,
buyer beware!!!!!!

Please note that this is not the original Badfinger. These are poor re-recordings made by Joey Molland and some session men.

I was pleased with the purchase and shipping of this CD, however I found that it wasn't quite the CD I thought it was. Totally my fault, however. I ended up selling it to a trade store and buying the CD that I wanted: The VERY Best of Badfinger. Just goes to show, make sure you know what you're buying before you do.

I am quite disappointed with this CD. The recordings are from 1994 by the Original Artist however it sounds like crap. Definitely not the way I remember or wanted the songs to be.

So really do yourself a favor and find a different CD with the ACTUAL original recordings.

I decided to buy this because all of the original members of badfinger were on the cover, which gave the impression that this cd would be all of them. Pete Ham, Tom Evans, Mike Gibbons, and Joey Molland. Here is a copy of the comments I sent to the seller:
I bought your best of badfinger cd, which shows all original members of Badfinger on the cover and on the disc itself. Very, very deceiving, the recording is NOT ORIGINAL !! and only has one original member performing as Badfinger, who was not even the original writer or singer for most of the songs he re-recorded, which he sang and performed pathetically. This CD SUCKS, stinks, I will never play it again. Nothing worth listening to. The only good thing about this Cd is the photo of the original group on stage. Great photo. Im very Displeased with this product. If you know anything about the original Badfinger band, you know that Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote and sang most of their tunes. Even the Mcartney written song "Come and get it" on this CD originally sung by Tom Evans,on this CD has Joey Molland singing everything, and calling this CD best of Badfinger ? What a joke! If I were you and was going to sell anymore of these, I would be more specific about the content! I would contact who you got these cd's from and give em hell for this pathetic peice of Garbage! This is the BEAST OF BADFINGER with Joey Molland CHURNING THE GRAVES OF HIS FORMER MEMBERS. (Although, Joey is the only surviving member of the group)all others are now deceased.
What a way to DESTROY THE IMAGE AND REPUTATION OF SUCH A TALENTED GROUP, by releasing new re recordings that are not worth the dollar or so that I paid.
*****NOTE****DO NOT BUY THIS CD FOR THE MUSIC !!!!THE FOTO IS THE ONLY THING WORTH ANYTHING !! Joey apparently cannot write anything of his own anymore worth recording. There are a few songs on this CD that were written by Joey, but his newer recordings even destroy his own reputaion of when he was in the group with his former mates. This is just a way for Mr Molland to cash in on the reputation that the name BADFINGER HAD. He's destroying that name too.
Mr Molland is doing to his deceased members what Burr Oak cemetery did to its buried !! Joey, how could you stoop so low?
