This item was in near perfect condition. It also came in a matter of days. The seller shipped it immediately. A+++++ I decided to purchase DVDs because I have the VHS version, and I felt the need to update. I am also a huge BEATLE FREAK! Thank you, yours truely, Beatt5 at fiffthbeatle@hotmail.com....Peace..
I bought it for my wife who is a beatle fan. She loves the extra features and footage dvd. She owned an older copy that did not have it. So she loves it
A must see for Beatle lovers. Everything you wanted to know about the Beatles. I liked the way they mixed the interviews of them with the time periods they went through. It really give you a chance to see how it all happened.
This DVD set gives over 10 hours of documentery footage, including new interviews with Paul, Ringo, and George. Great for any fan wanting the full story, and then some.
The interviews and personal feelings of how a mega-band works! Before the passing of George Harrison and Neil Aspinall(Apple & road manager)candid interviews are placed in between all the footage reels. The collection of 5 DVD's gives you a fantastic sense of what the group went through, from the early days of a local band up to their last album. It really is good to see how down to earth George and Ringo are with Sir Paul and their polished showmanship.Interviews include excerpts of John as well. You can't help not shaking your head, to realize just how huge they were! Then there's the music side of the DVD's, you suddenly remember soooooo many great songs and you find yourself reminising of where you were, when that song came out or who that song reminds you of. This is a collection you can play over and over again. The price you pay is like an investment, there will always be Beatle fans! Don't hesitate, Enjoy!
Great DVD - would highly recommend. Details the life of the Beatles from their very early beginning and chronicles their lives throughout their careers.
THE DVD SET IS THE COMPLETE BEATLES, I BOUGHT THIS ONE BECAUSE I LET SOMEBODY HAVE THE ONE I ORIGINALLY HAD. THIS ONE IS MINT CONDITION, AND I HAVE MISSED IT EVER SINCE I LET IT GET AWAY. THIS WAS A GOOD SELLER, SHIPPED IT FAST TO. THANKS, JUDY GRAVES
The history of the greatest band of all time, done by themselves.Excellent live performances, song videos and a wealth of information. All done in a clever "Beatleish" way.3 younger fellows I work with were starting to gain interest in the Beatles. One day,I invited them over and showed them some of the "mania" clips. They were knocked out by it.Especially the airport scenes with all the fans and press agents. They had no idea. All 3 I'm happy to say,are huge beatle fans. So,this is a great way to help pass the flame. Now if I can only get them off the mp3s and on to the vinyl. One step at a time.......
I am a huge Beatle fan and have seen every documentery and looked at every book I can get my hands on...but this dvd is the best Beatle documentery I have ever seen it is so in depth with some awesome live performences. Even if you have seen all the books and dvds of the fab 4 nothing compares to this, it is a must have even though it is kinda expensive!
If you are a Beatles Fan like myself you should definitely own a copy of this Anthology. This is definitely the best biography of the group that exists. There is so much unseen footage that you can't get anywhere else. You won't regret the purchase. (P.S. The Anthology CD's are also excellent.
The Beatles Anthology was packed with tons of information, stories, photos, clips, interviews, music, and more! It went behind the scenes to show the audience what it was like living in the time of the Beatles and what really went on back stage. It gave you a sense as to how the Beatles were just regular people, who weren't any different then the rest of us. 11 hours full of shared experiences and interesting information straight from the Beatles themselves (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, & Ringo Starr). I loved everything about the Anthology and it never let me down or disappointed me. I especially enjoyed the special features that included videos and separate interviews. If you're a Beatles fan, I would highly recommend that you take some time to watch the Anthology. It's definitely worth your time!
This is a great selection of film footage and music by the Beatles from the start to the final performances. I had originally wanted this for the "Free As A Bird" music video, but it has proven to be so much more. Bringing back my memories of all of the fun music and great moments in the numerous movies and newsreel footage etc. Worth Every Cent!
I bought this as a gift and the price was affordable. This is my first time to buy something through e-bay and I think I will continue to buy more through e-bay from now on. The service and delivery was proper on time. DVD came and it was in excellent condition, everyone enjoy watching it and inquired where I got the DVD from, of course, E-bay. Again thank you and I look forward to do more business in the near future.
never got the package..sent many letters to the seller..got 1 responce...saying she could ot beleave i made a dispute over 50.00 dollars....e-bay nor paypal any help
Daughter wanted this for xmas and couldn't find it in "record" store in the mall. Made her Christmas, saved some money and didn't have to deal with all the "tools" working in the mall.
Bought the VHS tapes when first issued. Love the convenience of DVD. Perfect! Story still just as fresh and entertaining as when the series first premiered on ABC television.
I have wanted this set on DVD for quite sometime. I recorded what aired on ABC in the 90's, but the VHS quality left alot to be desired & I came to learn that the DVD set contains hours of additional live concert footage as well as more in depth interviews. The only time I got to see the Beatles back then, was their performances on the Ed Sullivan Show. The anthology makes it clear how incredibly talented each of them were & how tight they were together...and I LOVE that! I'm immediately thrown back then & am reminded of the intensity of the mania & how it planted the desire in me to become a musician...we ALL wanted to learn to play! It also dispells alot of the rumors of the time about personality conflicts, rivalries with other British bands at the time, most all of those rumors were unnecessarily started by reporters in the press. It's my hope to pass this on to my kids & grandkids so they can learn where the roots of todays rock music came from and get them excited about the amazing part the Beatles play in the history of rock & pop music. This set also gives anyone interested a glimpse of that decade...the 60's. The music, the culture, the introduction of drugs on a large scale & the loss of innocence. I highly recommend the Beatles Anthology for it's impact value on today's society. What a great time and what great music it is and will always be. So buy it...sing along with it...love it...and by all means, pass it on.
This is an incredible look into the Beatles, their history put into an amazing chronological style, and an amazing view of them then and now. These 5 DVD's kept me captivated from start to finish. I'm actually surprised that they spent as much time as they did for interviews.
Initially, I did not expect much from this set, however, upon seeing all the newer interviews with Paul, George and Ringo, you can get a feel that as they matured, the Fab Four became very aware of what they had created by starting the Beatles. Their reflections on the history of their music and lives got me all sentimental and I felt I had an even greater understanding of whom they were and what they were about by seeing this DVD set.
My only dislike, was in seeing how "jaded" Paul McCartney was over his success, which is overtly apparent in all of his interviews. While Ringo and George seem to have entertained the idea seriously of the Beatles reuniting one day, Paul seemed that it was only whimsical and he really didn't have any interest in his roots any longer. That was a bit saddening. I enjoyed everything else on this DVD set though. The rare footage is priceless.
The Special Features disk is a real gem. Save it for last. You won't regret it.
I can say only this: GET THIS DVD SET. If you grew up with the Beatles or only recently came to know their music, this is a truly entertaining anthology.
This was already great, even if it only contained what was shown on TV, but with the additional footage, I found myself lost in the material. The Beatles singing, George Martin reminiscing, the Beatles' candid interviews... This is just jam packed with all you'd want to know about the Beatles. I especially enjoyed the Hey Jude video which was aired on Ed Sullivan originally, but I fail to see it on any of the Ed Sullivan tapes/DVDs offered.
Ringo tears up when talking about the Abbey Road sessions, saying that there was real emotion there. George Martin expresses his regret at not allowing George Harrison play the banjo part at the end of "Free as a Bird." I think it's these poignant memories and others that make make these DVDs so exceptional.
