The Aristocats (DVD, 2008, Special Edition)

This movie has will always be one of my son's favorites! It has great songs, wonderful characters, and a good plot. Keeps the kids interested for Hours!

Although the mucic (lots of jazz- "Everybody Wants to be a Cat"), catch phrases (swinger, hip cat, scat cats) and some of the graphics in the animation (tie dye psychadelic backgrounds during the music) are terribly dated to the 1970's- the decade in which this film was created- this masterpiece remains a fun watch for all ages. The cats are charming (if not a bit corny in spots), the songs are catchy and the villian is not too scary. The voice of Duchess, the mother cat, is provided by Eva Gabor and she is just so soft spoken and lady like. These qualities totally come accross in the mother cat.

Madame Adelaide, a glamourous and retired opera singer, treasures her cats beyond anything in her vast fortune and wants to ensure they are well cared for after her death. But when she wills her fortune to THEM before her faithful servant, Edgar, he vows to make the cats "disappear" once and for all by dumping them in the French countryside. The unsuspecting Duchess(mother cat) and her 3 kittens slowly make their way back home with the help of Thomas O'Malley, a friendly the alley cat and some other animal friends. But will Edgar be able to prevent thier return?

This is a great Disney film featuring memorable songs and some very great fun characters, you will enjoy this film. It is all about a womans cats. she loved her cats so much she left them everything in her will. Now her butler is trying to kill them so he'll inherret the money -- Great fun film.

my grand kids loved this movie. after the movie they even started singing the songs and knew the words. great movie

I loved this movie when i saw it as a child, now all of my children ages 3-14, love to watch this movie, and rarely move while watching this show.

This movie is a wonderful family film! The music is catchy and will have you and your kids singing the songs, even after the movie has ended. The characters are easy to relate to and endearing :D

This is a timeless tale. Fully restored from its original version. A classic Disney Movie. A must buy to complete any Disney collection.

I love this movie! I always have. I guess its because I'm a cat person and this movie is so cute and well written. I love how the cats always come back from behind. If your a cat person, or have a young child get this movie. You will not regret it.

Heard a lot about it and I am currently staying in the hospital with my 2 yr. old niece (cancer) and so she needs lots and lots of movies...

My children loved the cats, and what kept their interest the most, was the singing. The animation is colourful, and it is an entertaining family movie. Definitely for children of all ages.

My daughter's favorite movie...upgrade to dvd brought better color than previous vhs copy. Disney fans should take the opportunity to upgrade their collection...only so long before they go back in the vault.

I was looking for this particular DVD for the kids. I had seen the movie a few years back. I had enjoyed it quite well. Figuered that the kids would to. I was right. It was a big hit. This animated Disney feature isn't in the same league as the studio's early masterpieces ("Snow White," "Pinocchio"), but it's still worth seeing.

Set in Paris in 1910, the picture recounts the adventures of Duchess the cat and her three kittens, who are about to inherit the fortune of a wealthy opera singer. A jealous butler dumps the feline heirs out in the boondocks, and they try to find their way home with help from some amusing country cats.

The animation of this era of Disney movies isn't as drop-dead gorgeous as that of the films that made the studio's reputation, but it's still hand-drawn work, and does its job as an engaging vehicle for fun characters and lively music. There's outstanding vocal work by Phil Harris, the drawling, folksy actor-singer who was a star in the big band and radio eras and did vocal work on several Disney features (he sang "The Bare Necessities" in "The Jungle Book"). Other voice talents represented are Eva Gabor, Sterling Holloway, Scatman Crothers (who sings the great song "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat"), Pat Buttram and Paul Winchell. The songs are by Disney stalwarts the Sherman Brothers, and Maurice Chevalier sings the title tune. Extras include a deleted song and a "Bath Day" short cartoon from 1946, starring Figaro the cat.

"The Aristocats" was the last animated feature initiated by Walt Disney, who died in 1966.

The DVD got to me very fast. I will deal with this seller in the future. The DVD is in perfect condition as well as the cover.

The movie is entertaining. It's perfect for my 2-year-old daughter. She loves singing along (or at least trying to). It was new in package, and sealed.

Very entertaining! I wanted a dvd version of this movie and decided that the price was very good. It runs about $20.00 or more at the store.

This movie is a classic disney tale! Fun for the entire family. Us adults enjoy the old stars voices and to our daughter it's imagination come to life.

Never recieved, but did pay for it! I ordered it over 2 months ago for my daughter's birthday. I wanted to order it in time for her to have it. I was very dissapointed. This is the first time that this has ever happened to me while using ebay.

I loved this movie when I was a child and love sharing it with my children- I really love identifing the voices in the disney movies- the classics bring back wonderful memories of my childhood, especially with my mother!
