After high-society cat Duchess (Eva Gabor) and her three kittens inherit a fortune from their mistress, a greedy butler plots to get rid of them--and collect the cash himself. The villainous servant kidnaps the entire feline family and takes them far away from their comfortable Paris home. A bunch of animal pals come to the rescue however, and help restore the cats to their proper place. The heroic rescuers include the friendly alley cat Thomas O'Malley, the gallant mouse Roquefort, and the hilarious hounds Lafayette and Napoleon. THE ARISTOCATS was the last film personally supervised by Walt Disney himself.

Top Reviews Review created: 07/31/06 by: 2 of 7 people found this review helpful. Great jazz music, cute kittens, action, humor, and a happy ending--what more could kids want in a movie? The villian is the butler--he's not too scary, as in some Disney movies. He shows that greed is destructive and and bad guys don't win in the end. There is little violence--he gets shipped off in a trunk and the cats are safe. Two dogs, Bonaparte and Napoleon are worth mention too because their action scenes display great animation technique. The movie is funny. The kittens make it home and their Mom meets a Tom cat, too. My kids watch this movie often. It is a good movie for evenings because it moves quickly without dragging but it doesn't get them all wound up. Review ID: 10000000001458197 Was this review helpful? I bought the DVD to replace my VCR copy because our VCR just died. Our kids need to see clean, kid-friendly movies as opposed to playing violent video games, I believe. What a great alternative. Watching this w/my grandson was such a special treat. Review ID: 10000000006615538 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
