I adore this movie. I remember watching it with my parents when I was a child and now I can sit down and watch it with my child. Stop-motion-animation has always intrigued me. The amount of art, time and skill that goes into making it is astounding. This movie is definitely NOT lacking in imagination.
I have loved this movie since I was little and have been trying to find it to buy and now that I own it on dvd it will be a great addition to our collection and I can share it with my son.
I remember a very long time ago when my dad rented this for me and siblings to watch. I could only remember one section, the part called "the mysterious stranger". I remember feeling very upset with the fact that the little plasticine people were squashed/zapped by lightening, and sucked into great cracks in the ground caused by an earthquake. This was all done by the self confessed "devil" (the chap with the mask for a face). Now I am older, and married, I can relate to the story of Adam and Eve. Can not say I remember it the first time I saw this movie, but watching it again made me appreciate the meaning of it all. Only now do I understand the phrase "would you like to see my etchings"
I would recommend this movie on the basis of entertainment for all of the family, and for the pure nostalgic trip I experienced.
Great (claymation) effects in the movie, that keep child's and adults interest throughout the movie. A new take on much loved Mark Twain classic stories. Highly recommended, will make even the most unwilling reader want to read these classics.
This was such a great movie when I was a kid, and the material makes it great for all ages . . . as soon as I saw this movie I had to buy it and i'm so excited to watch it again.
Between the clay approach, and the cartoon-like colors, one would think this was for children only--well, nonsense! Any person with a knowledge of Twain might enjoy this entertainment. I bought it because I'm a Twain buff, and had seen it some years back. I am completely pleased with this purchase. Now, if only we could get the old Frederic March film of the same name!
The stories in this movie are truley memorable. I haven't seen it in about 12 years, and watching it brought back a lot of childhood memories. Mark Twain was the greatest writer and thinker of his time, and this movie really shows it. The claymation is unbelievable. Great great great great great movie, highly recommended.
My kids and I saw this movie years ago on the Disney channel. The kids absolutely loved it and they watched it every chance they got. The thing is, every time they would watch, so would my husband and I! The story of Adam and Eve is too cute to miss. We were all delighted when it was released on DVD. Both of my adult daughters immediately bought a copy for their children. It's just an all around great movie, for children and adults.
