As a teacher and a former student that struggled with reading in elementary school, I find this book a perfect explanation for students on how reading is a practiced skill.

Excellent, Very Fitting Title - Another Polacco Great
) Have you ever had a teacher that made a difference for you as a learner? In this wonderful autobiographical story, Patricia Polacco tells of a teacher who made a difference in her life. She tells the very frustrating story of how she learned to read. Finally, with the help of Mr. Falker she is successful. This story would be wonderful to share with a child who is having difficulty learning to read. The ending is one that could make you cry, as it did me. This as well as all of Polacco's books is a wonderful read aloud.
