Texas Instruments TI-85 Graphic Calculator

The Ti-85 is a great calculator. But people should be aware of it's limitations in the college setting. For most all students taking just normal maths and calculus it works awesome. However, engineering students should take note. It's very inefficient and complex working with higher tier maths and especially complex numbers found in Electrical Engineering and Phasors, etc. I recommend the Ti-85 for everything up to Calculus 3/4. Differential Equations, Sohpmore+ Engineering courses such as Circuit Analysis, Power, Systems, etc. Definitely go with AT LEAST TI-86 but highly recommend looking at TI-89,

Good Seller..... I bought the calculator for a friend who was needing a graphic calculator for her son. The seller was prompt in answering my questions.

I neede it for school,the screen is blue and it is hard to see.I can't really use it.I had to get another one.I am dissappointed with the seller.It was a waste for something that I can't use.This ebay experience was not a good one for me.

If you are looking for a calculator for College Algebra, you can probably just buy a TI 83 or 84. If you are going into engineering, the TI 85 is great. I did not need more than an 83, but it will work.

Item was shipped timely it seems within seconds (LOL). I like the fact that it takes AAA batteries and does not rely soley on a watch battery. This is perfect for my daughter's school work and i am going to purchase another one within a few weeks to have a back up in case she loses this one. its a functional calculator. but since i dont need it, i returned it. but the seller has good return policy and is easy to communicate

I lost my calculator and need one so I found this graphic calculator. Although, the price is higher than I expected but it's cheaper than I would have bought it new at the local store. So, I gave it a try and bought it. I am please with it so far as it works and fulfill my need.

I bought a calculator from this seller, physically the product looked good, but it did work. My attempts to contact the seller to receive a refund have been ignored and at this point I figure the seller is dishonest and sells untested or broken products.

this item was shipped very quickly. this was a great deal for the product, however a little misleading on the condition of the product. this product said it was in good condition, but there were lines in the screen in which you cannot see the numbers.

The TI-85 Graphing Calculator was the best all around calculator ever made. It has easy access to all calculus and algebraic functions, including hyperbolic functions which are hidden on most newer calculators. The built-in "POLY" and "SIMULT" functions are especially useful. It is also very easy to program. I now have five of them so hopefully I'll never be without one in the future.

I like the fact that it is not as expensive as other calculators and is able to still graph and etc. It is definitely different than the other TI's so it takes some time to get use to but the product overall is decent.

Great calculator that can be used in both highschool and college. Easy to use even without the book. And helps in the simplest problems in addition to the more complexed graphing that is needed in almost all algebra classes now.

I'd fallen in love with the TI82 and thought this would be similar, but it is not. Very awkward to work with. Poor programming access, poor math functions, graphing is aggravating. Try TI 83, 84, etc.

I've used the calculator and it works great, it looks great, and arrived fast. I am pleased with this at a good price, much better than the stores offer.

Have had the same calculator for the past 10 years...now my husband uses it for his structural engineering job. He swears by it! This is a must for any college student or engineer.

I needed a TI-85 for use in the classroom. When I inserted the batteries, it worked as good as a new one.

I got this for my son that is in college and shipped it to him and he said that it was a great product. I think products like this is great it is the ones that don't quite tell you all that there is about the product that make it hard to buy sometimes.

This is a great calculator, although it is superseded by the TI-86. The TI-85 is like almost just a TI-86 without the extra memory. If you don't plan to store much on the calculator, you can get this one instead.

The ti85 has been out of production for a few years now, but I still find it's functionality very useful. It's unit conversion features are particularly useful if you are a student in chemistry, physics, engineering or drafting. It doesn't have a lot of memory, but it does allow for special file types that the ti-82 and earlier models did not, so at the time it was a big deal.

I bought one on here partly out of nostalgia, and partly to keep around in case I need it.

The shipping was very timely. The product was actually older than it looked, so the screen was a bit difficult to read. But my son was happy to have it.

I am an engineer and like the Engineering Values Conversion function included in the TI-85 Graphic Calculator software. Yes, the Engineering Values Conversion can be done on the computer but the TI-85 provides a portable source for the data.

I also like the 8-Lines of data.

TI no longer manufactures the TI-85. I tried other TI calculators and other brands but none had the functions that I wanted.

I was thrilled when I found that TI-85's were available on ebay and have purchased 2. One was new in the original package!

Both calculators arrived within a week of purchase and worked exactly as described. described!!
