Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

This device has a rather steep learning curve.
I recommend that you purchase the device for school about a week in advance to read the manual and get acquainted with the features of this excellent calculator.

I used this device for a college-level Statistics and Probability class. The performance was flawless, including the link between the calculator and the PC. Again, debug this USB connection before class starts so that you can "hit the ground running" once class starts. The software installer is fairly straightforward, but downloading software updates from the TI website can be a bit confusing. Be sure to RTFM (Read The Freakin' Manual).

The website installer automatically places a copy of the periodic table in your calculator for use in Chem class.

I highly recommend this device over the older and slower TI-83 models.

In mint condition as described! I havent had the chance to open it yet but at this point it looks in great condition.........

I love any TI series. It's very useful and easy to use. Mine is pink. and you can also add other colors just by changing plate.(orange, yellow, blue, balck etc.)

It is just awesome! They have them at my school and I too own one they are the best calculators for all classes!

We appreciated being able to buy this online at a better price. Sad the schools demand this in High school, but that is the way it is. Also, they do say this will carry them through college, IF taken care of and not lost. I sure hope that is in our case! Thanks a million.

We are very pleased with the product, it performs exactly as it should. I purchased the item for one of my daughters who is a Junior in High School taking all AP classes.

LOVE this calculator - it has all of the features and similar functionality to the earlier models (TI-81, 82, 83) so anyone familiar with those will have no problem using this model, but it has tons more power, the silver edition in particular. Lots of memory and processing power. You can download everything from day planner/organizer programs to math tutorials to games, just hook it up to your computer using a USB cable (widely available, if not included in your purchase already). For the fashion-conscious, you can change out the faceplate and cover to suit your style, much like some cell phones. So far I haven't come across anything I consider to be a drawback, other than price; they can be quite expensive. Consider buying a used one at the end of a college semester when students are selling them off.

As an algebra teacher, I have long recommended that my students pick up their own graphing calculators, and the TI series is excellent for high school and beyond. It's a bit more than your average middle school student needs, but this model is one that should hold up into college, for most students. (not sure it'd get you through an advanced engineering program...)

Overall, the 84+ silver edition is a great tool and gets high marks from me!

I teach calculus and algebra and this is the calculator that I prefer for my students to use. I buy them so my students that are economically disadvantaged can use one of mine during the year.

I liked that it was shipped immediately like he advertised! Batteries were not new as he had said but who cares, with the money that I saved I got new set of batteries!

I have used all the TI graphing products and I love the built in applications that are provided on the TI 84 Silver Edition. I am a high school math teacher and purchased a few of these calculators to be used in my math classes. I also like the option to remove the face plate in order to customize the color of the calculator-I use this to easily spot my calculator in the classroom. This calculator is easy to use-especially if you have been using the TI 83 or 85. Although I love the TI89 calculator-the math functions are in completely different places than on the TI83-86 calculators and it is easier to teach students with similar features. Even if you are a calculus student, you can definitely purchase a cheaper calculator such as the TI 83 Plus and it has all the required features you will need for the AP exam. The only thing the TI 84 has is the preloaded applications (which arent used for Calculus or other classes) and the removable faceplate (personal preference).

I work as a math tutor, and I had used a Ti84 Plus for a couple of years before I got the Silver Edition. I'm very happy I upgraded to the SE.

The SE works faster than the standard Ti84 Plus, and it has greater functionality, too. It has more applications through the Apps button than the 84 Plus, and that can be a big help when you are tutoring. the Link to another calculator works just as well as that on the 84 Plus, so I was able to move all of my programs with no problem from the old calculator to the new one.

You can also outfit the SE with a customized faceplate in the color of your choice, and you can get a slide cover to match it.

My only complaint is that the Ti site with applications is a bit confusing to navigate, so it can be hard to get the software that you want. But that is an internal Ti issue, and it has nothing to do with the quality of this calculator.

My main point is that this is a fine calculator that will take you through standard High School calculus, and it is both fast and stylish.

I was very impressed with the overall condition and quality of this TI-84 Plus Silver Editional Graphic Calculator. It was just like new! My daughter had lost her calculator right before the end of school right before exams and I certainly did not want to buy another one at the store and pay full price. I decided to take a chance and get one on ebay and found one which turned out to be in excellent condition and worked wonderfully at almost half the price and I got in within the week which was just in time. Great calculator, great price and it "saved the day"!

We sell these...and these are great calculators. With key's similar to the 83+ just with added memory and capabilities, these work great, they look good, and sell for a reasonable price.
