Texas Instruments TI-15 Explorer Scientific Calculator

The TI Explorer is an excellent support tool for math problem solving in graders 3-6. While there is no substitute for knowing math facts, the student's focus should be the "how" of story and multi-step problems. The TI-15 allows the student to manage the computation quickly and is a basic part of the math instruction in my classroom. They are durable, with large keys for small fingers and there is an overhead TI-15 for classroom instruction. I have used them in my own classroom and I bought one for my grandchildren.
