Tex Avery's Droopy: The Complete Theatrical Collection (DVD, 2007)

My wife walked in on me and 3 of my 50 year old buddies watching and laughing at my new Droopy DVD. Her exact words were, "Will you ever grow up"?! My answer was a definite NO!! Great DVD.

It's Droopy. I've enjoyed his cartoon since childhood. And all 'toons in this collection are older than I am. And it's by Tex Avery. A genius cartoonist and animator with an outstanding career dating back to the 1930's. All 'toons are fully animated and uncut, so people with certain objections to certain off-color subjects may not approve of certain scenes. But if people just lighten up and realize "it's just a cartoon", I'm sure they'll all enjoy. Loved the collection. Loved the price. and one of the fastest deliveries I've ever had on an Ebay purchase. Bravo!!

Tex Avery did a lot of different characters, but none as lovable as Droopy. This is a great deal on a must have set for classic cartoon collectors.

What I loved is that it delivered what it promised, hilarity. Rewind and re-watch little scenes over and over even though you're an adult and when you tell your own kids "don't do that". Another reason is because it's like a great concert, you don't go to see Elton John (bad example maybe) to hear his new jazz album or his old B side songs that never made it on the radio for a reason. No, you bought that ticket cuz you love the guy and you wanna hear... "Rocket Man", "Daniel" or "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

They packed the very best episodes into this set like a sardine can and I'm thrilled that I purchased it. The fact that Tex also worked on Tom & Jerry, my all time fav cartoon, makes it all the better. I have dutifully raised my three boys, ages 6-16, to be huge fans as well. With these Droopy gems, we compare the sights and sounds of the mischievous cat and mouse duo. It enhances the nostaglia and experience, like popcorn at the movies.

After 60 years, timeless... wow!

I love Droopy, my kids (3 and 5) love Droopy, it is a great collection for fans. Dixieland Droopy is my favorite and I am glad to just be able to watch it whenever I want. When watching the entire collection at one time, you will notice how similar alot of the themes were, and even duplicated at times. If you are a fan though you cannot go wrong.

I bought this for my husband (54 y/o ). He is very pleased as it is the cartoons he remembers as a child. He says "They just don't make them like this anymore, good clean and funny". When he is happy, I am happy!

I was particularly interested in watching "Deputy Droopy" again is why I purchased this.It had a few others I'd never seen,all funny and terrific.Tex Avery is the greatest!Thuroghly enjoyable.

THIS IS A GREAT DVD SET, I HAVENT SEEN ANY OF THESE CARTOONS IN 3O YEARS. IF YOU ARE TIRED OF ALL THE NEW CARTOONS ON TV AND MISS THE CARTOONS FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD THIS IS THE DVD SET TO HAVE.

this dvd is an excellent review of Droopy's success, the crasy woolf, unluky dog and an impassible Heros. A must owned. You know ? I'm happy !

These cartoons will take you back. I bought this gift for my father and it's wonderful to see him laugh at things that he hasn't seen in years. The picutre quality is great and it has tons of Droopy cartoons, one after the other. This is a great DVD to just relax to and get some laughs.

This is a great collection of Droopy short cartoons that I loved from my childhood. The DVDs were brand new and the quality was great. We've really enjoyed this purchase and I hope to purchase again from this seller.

These cartoons are uncut and original. This collection is for those of us who want to remember and can appreciate the humor from the 40's and 50's. Wish more of this type of cartoons were available.

Great product. Original cuts. Not edited for sensitive and politically correct people. I bought it because these cartoons are enjoyed by young and old alike. The kids loved them. These are the cartoons you grew up with if you are older than 40 years old.

I remember sitting in front of the tv watching Droopy. These cartoons brought back alot of memories. Excellent trip down memory lane.

I bought this cartoon , And brought back so many memories . Its Great !! We have a grandson , and he sits and watches it over and over . I wish we purchased it months ago . Its just a pleasure. A+ in my book !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have liked Droopy for years and was delighted to finally be able to acquire the entire theatrical series on DVD. Despite certain cartoons on the set having noticeable DVNR (digital video noise reduction) defects (some split-second blurring during fast moments - a minor problem, in my opinion), it is nevertheless a must-have for anyone who wants to see these cartoons uncut, with the original gags restored, including the blackface gags (my apologies to whomever these offend, but these cartoons really should be shown as they were originally, whether you agree with the gags or not). A turn-off to me was the disclaimer at the start of the discs (a similar disclaimer is seen on the Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection sets) acknowledging how the cartoons, stereotypical gags and all, were "a product of their day", etc., etc., like everyone is too stupid to figure stuff out for themselves. But, I definitely recommend this set to Droopy fans of all ages.

If you like cartoons i mean real cartoons you will like this! but as for kids real young maybe vegee tales instead jus because of some of the content!

My main reason for purchasing this collection was for the slow whistling wolf. He mixture of being way too cool, and humor has always cracked me up. What I was hoping for was his solo cartoon with the Billy goat("Billy....Break it up son") Droopy was just an added bonus.

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my husband. In 10-07 he was diagnosed with Hodgekin's Lymphoma and started chemo treatments on 11-5. He absolutely loves all the Droopy cartoons and I figured he could watch this on days he is feeling low and it would give him something to laugh at. During this period of time there just isn't enough that makes him laugh so I thought this was a perfect present. So far, he has only watched a couple of the cartoons on it but he loves it. And yes, it makes him laugh!!! I wasn't able to get out much during that time, between his treatments and not wanting to get around crowds due to flu/cold symptoms everywhere, so I turned to E-bay. And as usual, they came through for me. Again, it was the perfect gift and the timing couldn't have been better.
