Tetris DS (Nintendo DS, 2006)

Tetris is a great game; it is extremely addictive. The Learning curve is absent. Tetris is a pick-up and play game. The six modes leaves you with endless entertainment. I am so glad that there is an online mode where I can dominate people anytime anywhere.

A must to any true handheld veteran.

I love this game... I loved the original but I love this one even more! It's great how many modes there are, if you get tired of one, you can switch to another. Also, the music and jukebox in it are pretty cool. Whether you grew up playing this or have never even heard of it, it is definitely worth buying.

Tetris is one of the most simplistic video games out there, and yet it's survived several different consoles and still remains popular. With the new DS installment, Nintendo has managed to perserve the original game, as well as bring in new versions.

The theme revolves around classic Nintendo characters, such as Link, Mario, Samus Aran, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and the guy who has an attatchment to balloons. The characters have their own games, allowing a player to chose from six different game types, and then variations within. As a whole, the game is mainly for puzzle players, but it's fast-paced. Multiplayer modes are also available in WiFi.

One down side to the original Tetris game included is that while playing on the bottom screen, the top screen shows Mario running through classic Mario levels, filled with pipes, goombas, and koopas. This can become a slight distraction, but doesn't take too much from the game itself.

It's deffinately a good buy, and worth it if you had to trade in your original gameboy game when you bought a DS, like I did. The gameplay stays fresh, and you can never truly "beat it", making it a great addition to any collection for years. Long live Tetris!

Tetris, not much to explain. This game has been around for years and now it can be found on your portable DS! The only differences is now Tetris offers more different gaming functions, and the use of the Stlyus is extremely inticing!

Whether you played Tetris since the late 80's, or you have never experienced this game, you will love Tetris on the DS.

There is tons to do between the missions, puzzles, and going online and playing against people all over the world. This game is addicting so expect to lose tons of hours playing.

I can't find one thing I hate about this game except that the computer is too hard on level 5...or maybe I am just not that good yet. :)

Buy this game ASAP. YOu will not be disappointed.

If you're a Tetris freak like me you'll get this game on DS,this game is available on Gameboy of course but this game is a little deeper,I love how everytime you progress to another level there's an old nintendo theme on the top screen of your DS(example)like Mario,Zelda,Donkey Kong,Metroid ect....this game is pretty neat. There's also six new ways to play this game Standard,Touch,Mission,Puzzle,and more...Oh and you really can't go wrong with Wireless and Wi-Fi multiplayer, up to ten players can play over local wireless using one game card or you could just go online with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Worldwide with other players(Come on do you got what it takes to be the best?) In short great game.

This game, and the amount of copies sold, proves that Tetris is alive and doing very well. The ability to touch the screen and move blocks in the "Touch" mode is a neat and new twist. The missions modes are mixed with some ol' themes from Nes games of years gone by (Zelda, Mario, Metroid).

"Catch" has you trying to catch blocks in the middle of the screen and try to make cubes out of the tetris pieces. You can rotate your blocks in the middle of the screen, but you cannot change the falling blocks! Great fun!

"Push" has you competing with another player (one on the top of the screen, the other at the bottom) to make lines and "push" the middle line to your opponents end of the screen. This game eats up plenty of spare time!

To add to the madness, most of the games are available through wi-fi, so you'll be playing for hours!!

This would be a great game to buy if you're considering it! I absolutely love how then incorperated Mario in it =). Even if you're one who thinks Tetris is boring, I'm sure you'll be able to find some type of excitment in this game.

Tetris was perfect in 1989. Now its even better. With levels featuring parts of Nintendos past such as Mario, Link, and Samus and new game modes this game was perfect. With standard mode featuring 20 Levels and 200 Lines of Nintendo glory, Catch mode with Metroid and trying to move a mass of blocks at once, Push mode featuring Donkey Kong and a tug of war battle between blocks, Touch Mode with Balloon Fight and using the Stylus to form rows, Puzzle Mode with Yoshi and complex puzzles with the Tetrimonis, and lastly Mission Mode with Link and trying to complete certain missions with your blocks. This game has the regular Tetris (improved) Great Graphics, and 5 new modes! All DS owners and Puzzle lovers must get this game. This will ensure Tetris' survival through the next generation.

This is just the old classic game, revisited. most of the tetris sequels have just been bad or seriously dated (check out Tetris 2- its like an all encompassing time capsule from the early 90's) but this one has no silly gimmicks, bad music or stupid background story. its just sets of bricks falling down, which is exactly what makes Tetris awesome.

plus you get to pick your own music, which includes new songs and the classic tetris songs, as well as other well-remembered SNES game theme songs. the levels have cute little themes, which don't interfere with game play, there's just little pixelated marios and links in the background, again appealing to those of us who remember the original tetris. definitely a must for any DS owner.

I have the hand-held and game on the computer so I knew I would like and I did.
That way I don't have to take the hand-held games with me on a trip. I will be using it alot next week when my daughter & I go on a field trip and we will be traveling by bus and it will come in handy then and any future trips.

I like how it starts out slow and then once you get use to playing the levels go up and it gets faster.

THIS IS THE GAME OUT OF ALL THE TETRIS GAMES I LOVE IT...AND I'M IN 40, MY DAUGHTER BOUGHT ME A GAME BOY ADVANCED FOR CHRISTMAS ONE YEAR, B/C I'D ALWAYS BE PLAYING HER GAME BOY, WELL I PLAY IT WHILE WATCHING TV, OR IF I HAVE TO WAIT TO BE SEEN AT THE DOCTORS I BRING IT..IT'S FUN, AND THE MORE I PLAY THE BETTER I GET....KIDS LOVE IT TOO....40 YEAR OLD GAME BOY ADVANCED TETRIS PLAYING JUNKIE:)

tetris, What a classic, and I love how it uses other nintendo game music for the themes. cute graphics yet the same old game I have grown up with loving.

i really loved it the only thing that i dislike it was that i could not clear the history and i bought it for my girlfriend

I would place this as excellent if it added more than two multiplayer modes. The first multiplayer mode allows up to 10 DS players to connect using only one cart!!! The mode also allows you to add items which are all based on Mario items (Mushroom will give opponents blocks with rockets on them forcing them done super quick, Banana changes the block configuration on you opponents screen, Lightening makes it so opponents can't change the position of their blocks, Shell to remove blocks from the bottom rows, and a Star to protect you from getting affected by other people's items as well as give you straight blocks for a short period of time). I love the whole Nintendo theme with Zelda, Mario, and DK. The second mode is called push that allows two players (still only using one cart) to play a tug-o-war match. I would like to see more modes for the multiplayer portion but as it is, it's a great game that is addicting as heck with multiple players!!!!

At first I was reluctant to buy Tetris on a new generation console because I loved this game on the original Gameboy and the Super Nintendo. But since I was able to purchase one at a good price, I bought it on eBay. And now I am so glad I did. With six game modes, I am able to play standard Tetris, play download play with my friends and family, and can play the new modes as if I were playing minigames, and at the same time it helps me brush up my Tetris skills and also test how well I can actually can play.

I bought this product because me and my family love the old school Nintendo Tetris game and was interested in seeing if this one was any good. IT IS. My whole family couldn't put it down. We love the old Tetris theme wrapped right in with the old Super Mario theme. Also, the other forms of Tetris are great to play! I highly recommend this game.

I have enjoyed playing Tetris on DS. It's the same old trusty Tetris just in a mini version. It is rather easy to figure out how to play int on the Nintendo DS. Lots of hours of fun!!!

Pros: Every thing... from 2-4 player DS to DS mode, 2-4 player WI-FI, Single player mode, and many new tetris game modes.

Cons: No Classic mode for WI-FI.

Tetris is back.. Now on the DS. Tetris has been a clasic over the years, always comming out with new styles, and different game modes. Now with Tetris on Nintendo's newest handheld, you can play online. Play with friends close, or far away. Or play against people world wide. There are 3 different game modes for the WI-Fi. The only down fall is there is no classic mode for the WI-FI. This Tetris is just as addicting as all the rest.

This was purchased for husband who loves the real Tetris. This is not the real Tetris but a samples of Tetris. One one you have like the real Tetris but you do get to see where the blocks are following. Which to me is cheating but to my husband is much better. To each his own. There are several versions. You can start half way, one fourth, or anywhere up the the lines you want to start which makes it harder. Your choice makes it more difficult to try to get the blocks in before you reach the top...if you can. The only thing I like is you can switch from different games. But it was for my husband who loves the plan Tetris like game which lets you see from the time it starts to drop where it will land as you move the block across the board. Hard core Tetris players will be bored. But this game is excellent for beginners and medium players!

If you loved the original Tetris, there's a very good chance you'll fall in love with this game too. It has colorful graphics, and very simple controls, so it's playable by a very wide audience, now part of the Touch Generations series. It has a retro theme to it, spreading 8 pixel Marios, Links, DKs, Samuses, and Yoshis all over the game. With the wifi features you can play against people from around the world, friends and strangers. If you're looking for great replay value, Tetris DS is also your game. It includes several modes, each unique in its own way.
