I disliked this film. I was interested in it because of the talents of David Sutcliffe. He is a fine actor and his talents are the only redeeming feature of this dark humor film. But those talents are mostly lost and poorly displayed with a disjointed plot and a cast that lacks in talent in this particular vehicle. This film attempts to convey sardonic humor but it fails along the way. It is sketchy, boring, and either I got a bad copy or it is a poorly filmed movie. I found myself anxiously waiting for it to end, realized I had seen it on a cable station once, and that is the only thing about it that obviously was unforgettable to me. The main character is a Los Angelos artist named Dean (Sutcliffe) who is obsessed to the point of madness to find out why an ex-lover deserted him without a word and returned to his native Argentina. That's about it. The viewer will be left totally frustrated in this cinematic mess. Don't waste your money on this film. It is based on a novel by the same name. Perhaps the novel is more entertaining? You tell me. This movie is bizarre, but not in a good "Pulp Fiction" way; David Sutcliffe needs to stick to television dramas and "movies of the week" to highlight his talents if he doesn't get better scripts than this one. No offense intended! Thanks for reading this. Have a good day.
