I never would have thought about getting this book after seeing all of the mailings that seemed like a joke. then I got the book and I have to say, he's not a master gardener for nothing. This guy actually knows what hes talking about and although some of the "tonics" described seem strange, I don't hesitate to follow his instructions to the letter and my yard looks great. One thing I would like to see different should a revision come out, is that he provides a general name to some of the items used since some of the brand names that he mentions are not available here. Not only are my trees, shrubs and grass looking great, but now my yard and I both enjoy a beer during yard work.

This book is great for gardeners who are trying to get away from chemical use. Most ingredients can be easily found. The author uses many of the same ingrediendts for different purposes. My step mother has tried many of them and for the most part, they work. I tried one to keep animals out of my landscaping (tom cats). One application has kept them out for months.

All his books help kill or keep something away. His books show us tricks we didn't think of or didn't think would work.
If you garden and need some ideas to kill thing naturally, great book.

Got this book for myself first and after trying several of the easy tonics & suggestions for my garden problems I was very pleased how effective they were. My son has a large garden and many more opportunities to test Baker's suggestions, so I go this 2nd book for him. He LOVES it and it has already saved some of his garden produce from the bugs (and critters!).
