Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites by Chris Heimerdinger (1989, Paperback)

CHRIS HEIMERDINGER IS THE ONE OF THE BEST AUTHORS EVER! Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites was Chris' first book and it is teriffic. Jim Hawkins is a very sarcastic teenager. He hates Garth Plimpton or as Jim calls him 'The Whimp'. But through a unusual set of circumstances Garth and Jim become friends and find themselves in a place that is not their hometown of Cody, Wyoming, but in a tropical area that turns out to be the Southern Americas in about 200 B.C. Trying to get back home, they meet a variety of people including Helaman. This is marvelous series and book. GET IT.

As a parent, I decided to purchase this book for my daughter to help her understand more about her religion, in a fun and interesting way. I know that Chris Heimerdinger is an excellent author and has very high morals and ethics. My daughter loves this book because it is really interesting and has taught her about the Nephite people and what it was like back then. The characters in this book are introduced well and hold my daughter's attention. I highly recommend any of Chris Heimerdinger's to anyone looking for a clean, fun, educational book.

Over and over again I am drawn into this series. It has mystery, adventure, love, and faith. An excellent read.
