THE ECCENTRICITIES OF A NIGHTINGALE: One of Tennessee Williams more underrated (yet still brilliant) plays, THE ECCENTRICITIES OF A NIGHTINGALE is the story of a lonely spinster whose desire for the love of the younger doctor next door leads her to do something against her fantasies and her morals. Dealing with Williams' typical emotional themes of longing, alienation, and unrealized dreams, the drama is romantic and tragic. This Broadway version features incredible performances from stage and film thespians Blythe Danner and Frank Langella.


TEN BLOCKS ON THE CAMINO REAL: That master of faded dreams and lonely lovers filled with regret, the Southern playwright Tennessee Williams wrote this one-act allegory in 1948. The story of a fallen ex-boxer (played in this 1966 production by the great Martin Sheen), TEN BLOCKS ON THE CAMINO REAL takes place in a made-up Latin American nation which seems like a surreal otherworld. Co-starring Lotte Lenya, Tom Aldredge, and Michael Baseleon, it is a tragic story of spiritual decay and false hope.
