Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny (DVD, 2007)

We Saw The Beginning of this Movie At the SDCC... last summer 2006 where Jack premiered it for the attendees.

The Beginning Rocked! Both my wife and I liked the beginning few minutes!!

However after a good start, and a few more good scenes, it went downhill for us... sad....

The movie resorts to cartoons, which we normally love, but this was a jumbled mess. Not up to par with 'School of Rock' sorry!!

Not recommended for rental or owning, if only the first few minutes were a short film !

If you like juvenile humor, it is an excellent choice. The team of Kyle Guess and Jack Black are reminescent fof Cheech and Ching wherein all if their movies are two guys trying to make it as big time rock musicians. In reality the music is pretty bad, but just for the sophmoric comedy and one liners it a great choice.

I purchased this used DVD for my teenage son & he LOVES it!
The disk plays like brand new & he has had no problems with it what so ever.
The seller had it for a VERY good price & the shipping cost was VERY reasonable. I would definitely buy another movie from the seller.

I wanted this movie. it arrived quickly and packaged nicely. I haven't viewed it yet though as I left the country right after it arrived.

Great and funny, If you like Comedy and think its easy becoming a rock star, you need to watch this battle guitar solo with the devil himself.

I bought it because my 14 year old nephew was telling me about it when they rented it so I wanted the movie here for when they come over.

funny movie, not as funny as i thought it would be. i love jack black. if you like jack black then you would like this movie.

Okay, if you don't already know, let me just say that Jack Black is a freakin GENIUS.Kyle Gass is legend-ary. These guys RULE. This movie tells us a story of a journey of a young misunderstood rocker who's just trying to find his way in the world, but is rejected time n' time again--but finds a friend, and his destiny!!
This is a total feel-good, LIFT-YOUR-SPIRITS-HIGH movie, FULL of KICKASS music, catchy melodies n' lyrics you WON'T be able to forget--and, Man, ya just gotta see it. It's THE BEST MOVIE EVER. Tenacious D! They ARE supreme!!!

If you loved Spinal Tap, you will love this movie. Depicts two small time musicians trying to make it to the top, and of course find the pick of destiny. Lots of luaghs throughout movie, you need a good sense of humor, and not mind a little profanity. Jack Black's performance is hilarious, a must see for the Jack Black fan.

I wish I had talent like these guys. Two 'dudes' journey about making the best song ever created! They are a sort of Coffee-Shop Heavy Metal Folk Rock, if there is such a thing. If you loved the HBO series, this is right on the money and was everything I hoped it would be!
Bringing in talent like Meatloaf and Dio are perfect fits to this style of music, and of course David (Dave) Grohl!
The Rock-off (final showdown) with the devil proves how strong their talent is. I get goosebumps everytime I play that scene. JB's vocals ROCK! Listen how in tune JB's vocals are with KG's guitar on 'Classico' particulary at the end of the song. Do not be afraid to play the surround-sound at high volumes! I doubt any movie theater played this movie at the proper volume when it was shown.
This is an incredible rock-musical with a funny story. Also check out JB's eyes through the movie, either lack of sleep or too much 'BOD'. Watch the movie and you'll understand.
I wish I could say more without giving any story away.

The item I received was good quality and I was happy with it. I felt the wait was a bit long due to a delay between the order date and the date it was placed in the mail (~5 days) that surprised me. All in all I was satisfied.

very funny and very different kind of musical i liked that it was rock n roll so rock out with your c$ck out!

This movie is beyond excellent. The only word i have to describe it is: EPIC. I love love love this movie!

Full disclosure upfront...I am a musician. I purchased three of these dvd's so that two other musician friends could also have the pleasure. But you do not need to be a musician to really appreciate the tongue in cheek, fun poke at Rock and Roll that Tenacious D's Jack Black and Kyle Gass provide. You'll notice special cameo's by Meatloaf, Ben Stiller, and Ronnie James Dio, just to name a few. You'll laugh over and over. Enjoy.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass out performed themselves in this film. Jack was great, funny, excellent! Love this film, I only wish there was a Blu-ray version. Explicit language.

I lovw Tenacious D so thats why i had to buy this dvd and it was so cheep. I could never find a price like that at a store so thats why i bought it when i did. The movie was great like always and Tenacious D ROCKS!!!

If you love Jack Black, you'll love this movie. The music and song lyrics are hysterical. You may wonder where its going in the beginning. Then you understand the title of the movie and it all comes together. Not one for the kids. Great for drinks, anything exotic, and some munchie food. Tim Robbins has a superb small role, too!

I love this movie and I like Jack Black, he's hilarious and him and Kyle know how to rock. Very funny, it's a must see.

The end, with the Rock off with the Devil Kicked Butt!! Pretty cool movie to watch, when thers nothing good on t.v.

funny but average acting. buy it if your a fan. otherwise dont waste time of effort. otherwise, this movie is funny with plenty of slap stick. worth it if its low priced.
