This is the first Disturbed CD that I have purchased. I heard a couple of their radio songs and decided to give this CD a whirl and I am very glad I did. The singer's voice is perfectly suited to this genre of music. He can yell, shout, growl, sing, and keep a melody going nicely. The guitar work is excellent throughout the album.
Contrasting what some others have said, this album by Disturbed is not rap/rock. They are rock/metal only here. Rap/rock is Crossfade, it's Limp Bizkit, it's Thousand Foot Krutch. But Disturbed does not fall in this genre on this album.
There is only one complaint I have about the album and that is that some of the songs do sound the same, especially after a few listens. However, the songs' lyrics are all very different, some with political twists, some with deep emotions expressed, and others just airing some opinions on society in general.
Don't pay attention to the haters. They just don't know decent music when they hear it.
