Superior In Every Way

I would highly recommend this film as a prime example of the need for all peoples of our earth to have respect for each others ways, both ancient and modern.
Accolades to all who produced this incredible film, and especially to Producer Rolf De Heer, aboriginal Australian icon David Gulpilil, and the people of Ramingining. A friend recommended I watch this DVD so I borrowed it from my library. What a pleasure it was to see a film produced in Australia with aboriginal people playing the parts. Not only do they use their own language, but the captioning is superb. The film is a vivid window backward in time into the millennia long historic past and the current lives of Australian aborigines. This is a rare opportunity to see how things were done long ago, the values of the people and the 'long ago ways' of teaching right and wrong. My deceased father had a deep regard for the native peoples of Australia. How I wish he could watch this incredible film! Thankfully, their historic past has, at least in part, been documented in "Ten Canoes". It is a film which will go down in history as a winner, with filming done with deep regard for the people and their ancient and current history and ways of life. Be sure to watch all the "extras", especially the making of the film, and interviews with Peter Djigirr and Rolf de Heer.
