Tekken 5 (PlayStation 2, 2005)

Tekken 5 has it all a fighting game needs. You can play story mode to learn the players life and when you finish there story you unlock a new character. But just to warn yuo the ending boss is really hard and in almost every battle he uses this very cheap move that takes most of your life away!! You also win money win you finish the story. In Arcade Mode you fight how ever long you want with just one person. If you win you get money but not a much in story mode just a couple of a thousands. Time attack and survival modes are the same as always. Practice is where you can try to perfect the person you like the most or you just like to see there moves. There also are some new features like the Devil Within. Its about Jin and you fight with him but its nothing like original Tekken fighting its kinda like free roam fighting. Tekken history is where you can fight in the style of Tekken, Tekken 2 , Tekken 3, or Tekken 4 and you already have the characters. Customizing is where you can shape a fighter in your desired look for them. Graphics are superb mostly in the movies. Gameplay the same but way better now. Sound is same but they tweaked it a lil bit better. They also fixed the scenario for effects. This game has it all so i suggest if you dont have Tekken 5 you haven't even lived yet.

This is one of the best fighting games. The two player action is great and it is a ton of fun winning the challenges and then getting the new characters. It is a great game that can be played over and over.

Ive played Tekken from the first Playstation till Tekken 5. So I am not new to this game, in fact I'm really good at it.

I will start with the bad part because its short. The worst part of the game is when the end boss is so hard, that if you take a single hit, you are basically finished, it kinda takes away from the fun factor of the game. If you block, he can stun you. If you attack, he dodges. If you start learning his moves, he changes accordingly. And with an attack that does about 90% damage in a single hit with about a 1 second delay, its no fun. If you dodge, he can fire another one right after the first. So basically, you have to beat him as fast as possible without guarding and pray he doesn't use his death move.

Now the end boss was the only part of the game I really didn't like, Unless you buy a gameshark and put the code in to unlock. Luckily you can't unlock him while playing the game normally.

Now for the good parts, like Character movements and attacks are more smooth then previous games. The graphics are slightly higher then 4, and obviously alot better then Tekken 1 - 3. Tekken 5 also has a kinda of cool character customization feature where you can buy items for characters, and customize colors of 3 sections.

They added a new feature called "Tekken : Devil Within". Its the story of Jin's past. Basically you play as Jin and go through levels beating enemies. Its kinda hard because of the controls and camera angles. Basically you get a single button for kicking, punching, blocking, and jumping. Then the analog stick for moving. Its slightly fun for the first time, but when you die, it becomes kinda boring. Though, a friend of mine loved it and thats all he did. It just depends on what you like. Its more like a Third Person Fighter.

My all time favorite thing they added was an arcade mode. It has Tekken 1, 2, and 3 in arcade style. You have most of the characters unlocked in each game right from the start. But, it is the arcade version so theres no menu's and options. You just get the basic game, which is fine with me.

All in all, this game is good, but I feel the end boss alone made it a game that has a lower replay value, which may be the reason they added the arcade mode. I find it hard for myself to play through the story because of this, and thats a large part of the game. But if you can beat it, the stories are interesting. Much like Tekken 2, which is my favorite. If you can find a strategy for beating the end boss, then this game would rival Tekken 2. Like all fighting games of course, you just have to find a weak point.

Hopefully this gives a good insight to this game, and if you can still find it, I would suggest buying it because its usually cheap if you can find it. I personally bought mine here on ebay because my local stores didn't have any new or used copies. Thank you for reading my review!

I love fighting games just as much as the next person. BUT Tekken 5 i would have to say is higher up in the charts than your avg 1v1. the fighting styles of all the characters are and always have been unique. I proven to many people that there is no better character. Just speeds and match ups. There are different classes but there is no 'best character' which what i like most about this game. So much of the winning is based on skill and instinct as it should be,

Tekken 5 is a really nice game, with over 20 characters to choose from it's a really timely game, and hard to master. you must complete the game with every character just to unlock most the game's hidden features. Once you get good enough, using certain characters you are able to block a punch or kick and use their attack to go into a grab for your attack, or a start for a run of attacks into your opponenent which is sort of like Soul Calibur where you can block and evade (in tekken you can evade too). All in all this is one of my favorite games with really choice characters!! +++

The condition of the CD stated 'Used',on the contrary the CD was in excellent condition,scratchless! I have played the CD roughly 5 times and it works like a charm. The delivery was faster then the mentioned time frame. It was well packed. The delivery was handled very professionaly with a little notice in the package stating that in the case anything was wrong or not up to the required mark,I should instantly report it and the company would handle it appropriately.

New characters Great graphics and Great sound. You also can relive previous Tekken's 1,2,and 3 except Tekken 4 it dosen't have Tekken force mode but another great mode called Devil within anyway if you love fighting games this ones right for you I give it a 5 out of 5.

It's very entertaining and everyone should play it sometime. The graphics are nice, the game stories and movies are very interesting to watch.

I got a Sony Playstation 2 and I feel this has been my best Ebay purchase ever. Not only did I get the PS2, but it also came with two controllers (you only get one controller if you buy it in a store), a memory card, and 11 games! The original add said 10 games, but the seller found another one and included it as well.
I purchased it because my 7 year old just started playing football this year and he wants to learn as much about the game as possible so he wanted to play the newest Madden football game.
We already own a Wii system, but on the Wii its more a physical game, with the PS2 there's more strategy involved, so to me its more cerebral.
I owned the original Playstation years ago before I got married. I was surprised and ver happy with the new look of the PS2. The new slim, compact design is ideal for space in the home as well as traveling and taking it on the road with us.

I have always been a huge tekken fan. since the very first tekken I was addicted to this game. tekken 2 is my favorite of the series and tekken 4 is my least favorite. the music the characters the graphics I just love everything about the game.

Tekken 5 is incredibly fun. While there is no online mode, the arcade mode gives CPU opponents screen names in order to substitute. The 2 player modes are awesome. The story mode is typical of Tekken with a very defeat-able end boss. Each character is customizable including colors, masks, gloves, pants, etc. This adds legs to the game as each character can look however the gamer wants them to look.

My favorite in the tekken series. me and my friend beat it in less then a day, so the gameplay is a bit lacking, but still pretty fun when you have nothing else to do and just need something play when your bored.

I was very excited waiting for it. The game arrived the day expected and much earlier than I had expected as well. Disc came just as said. Game runs very smoothly and everything is working just perfectly!

I was under the impression the game was going to be in it's own box, but when I received it. It was bought or stolen from a video store.
