Great Ninja action! A great dvd set. The brothers learn valuable lessons as always. Great kick-butt action. Friendships are forged and healings began.

) This series is much darker than the old show... and for that reason alone,
more enjoyable. The turtles and their enemy, the Shredder are all a little more forboding in this presentation--- especially the Shredder and his minions.
The stories seem to consist of one season long arc, and that probably puts most people off, but then maybe some find continuity to be a major factor in their enjoyment of cartoons or comics. This DVD consists of the first 12 episodes of season 1 and every one of them is quite good, the writing is first rate and, believe it or not, each episode is packed with humor. Anyone familiar with the 80's cartoon may want to check this series out to see a Shredder who is dangerous and kind of frightening to behold. There are no extras with this DVD, but the shows are so much fun, it's not that big of a deal.
So, anyone with a fondness for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should check out this newer series... you may be pleasantly surprised.
