Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I (1989, Paperback)

If you like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and are interested in getting into the original comics, this is a highly recommended purchase. This trade paper back collects the first three comics in the series in color, unlike the original black and white versions. Also included in this are two extra stories. The stories are presented in a very serious, almost noir fashion, as the first comic was actually something of a parody of Daredevil and Frank Miller's Ronin. If you're expecting a written version of the cartoon series with color-coded turtles and plenty of comic relief, this may not be the product for you. Instead, it is closer to the first live action turtles movie which was based more on these comics than the cartoon. If you want to read the comics and don't want to spend a lot of money collecting each individual issue, this book is a must.
